And you save on coffins!
Gotta love mother nature. What an amazing view!
Little to no lava from Alaskan volcanoes. You're more likely to die from inhalation of the ash, which is extremely fine and abrasive.
il take one, i loooooove the gas masks
Nah bro, some round-trip tickets to Tampa for the Super Bowl would hit the spot though!
Hopefully this will be the last we hear of Sarah Palin.
Dude, Jack4hire is a friend of mine and I'll be watching the Super Bowl with him today. His comment went right over your head.
And no, Sarah Palin is around to stay, thank God. You must be one of the sheep who believed the biased media garbage thrown at her. But, this thread had nothing to do with politics so kindly leave it at the door.
From volcano's to politics... wow.
Not me bro. I can't believe that someone interjected something so irrelevant.
However, activity on Mt Redoubt has picked up a bit but nobody knows what's going to happen.
-10 F here this morning. Ugh!
This is where we are at thus far:
Not a huge Sarah Palin fan, but what did my original post have to do with the current Governor of the State of Alaska?
Got plenty of pizza and JD Jack. Do you like it with soda or straight up?
Diet or regular Coke is good. I only drink it straight if my goal is to get sh*t faced. I'm driving tonight and I have to work in the early morning so I'll limit myself to just a couple of drinks with my pizza.
The Steelers are going to kick a** me thinks. Woot!
Hopefully I don't see a mushroom cloud to the South as I'm driving home.
hope that volcano doesn't throw any "Hail Mary's" in you direction.
Except for when the weather is bad or volcanoes erupt .
Fortunately, neither happened. However, I lost 5 years off my life in that game. Steelers get the six-pack!!!!!!
lol, It wasn't meant to stir anything. I think she is a waste of space. Actually the media has a very good impression of her, since she created it (the impression).
The volcanic eruption should be smaller than the 89-90 eruption.
Get those masks ready and secure windows and such. everything should be fine. How are emergency services and disaster preparedness up there Jack?
I’m on my work computer now so I can’t give my detailed personal opinion about my ultimate boss. I will say that Sarah is not that bad. She has done a lot of good for Alaska thus far. She definitely got a bad rap during the 2008 Presidential Race.
Enough of that.
The emergency services are excellent here. The people are adaptable as well.
While I was in the Guard, I was certified as a Disaster Coordinator and Incident Commander through FEMA and the American Red Cross. When needed, I was detailed to the Alaska Division of Emergency Services (ADES) and travelled the State providing disaster (fire, flood and economic) relief. It was some interesting work.
IF there is an eruption and that's a big IF, we will be fine. About the only thing that could do a serious number on the State is another big earthquake.
Oh, ok. I know exactly what you mean. Working for government right now, so I'm very careful what I say.
I suppose these situations lest the limits of the disaster preparedness system, but I think people ultimately are the ones who make the situation easier.
In case of an evacuation should the eruption be far more dangerous, I hope everyone is ok.
Been watching a couple of programs about Alaska these last couple of months. Dude that place is hardcore. If you can survive there, you close to ready for almost everything.
