Interesting. Might make me finally pick up the expansion.
We promised to keep you up-to-date and show you different things over time, and that's what we do!
For today, you'll get two new screenshots! Two very nice postcard scenes.
And here are also answers to two more most frequently asked questions during the last days:
Question: How much will I need to download to get the patch?
Answer: Pinpointing this is not possible at this time of course, but we expect to have an end result of about 1,4 to 2 GB in size.
Question: Are you going to fix the ATI/AMD shadow bug issue?
Answer: We are heavily working on the ATI/AMD hardware shadows mode. What we can say for sure at this time is that the ATI/AMD shadow workaround you already know from Gothic 3 patch 1.74 will be included - with working torch shadows.
Also not to cause any confusion please note that the team member titles have slightly been changed in the announcement post.
Will this re-do all the horrible voice-acting that sounded like drunk College students, also?
Hope so, patch will be about 2 GB
i don't see any major graphics improvement..but if it will bug free and well balanced it's enough.
This makes me want to pick up Gothic 3 now.
Yeah, you're dreaming.
Do you work in Community Patch Team?
This expansion is actually stand alone. Of course if you haven't played Gothic 3 yet, it got it's own huge community patch some time ago by the same people.
No, but why would they redo the English dialogue when most of the community patch team is not English? The community patch team didn't change the dialogue from the original Gothic 3, so why would they for Forsaken Gods? If they had some English volunteers then maybe.
Or just have an option to remove the voice acting. It seriously hurts the game. It's...so bad I could do better on a 10$ mic.
Forsaken Gods was a different team, and had much much worse production quality. So while the reasoning is there, I still side with you, and say I would be extremely surprised if they re did it.
New Video with new patch for Forsaken Gods, which will be released soon, enjoy
Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition coming soon!
The work on the Enhanced Edition patch has been finished. The Community Patch Team (Mad Vulture Games) is in the last steps of perfoming safety checks.
Everything's ready for a release, and next week it's about time!
That week you may download the free patch which turns your copy of Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods into Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition. All of you who do not own the game yet, may consider purchasing the Enhanced Edition via Steam.
To get a feeling for all the changes we implemented you can already have a look at the changelogs (in English, German, Polish, Italian)! The corresponding links you can find in our forum or at the Mad Vulture Games website.
And...did the voice acting change?
and small change log, your average StarCraft patch is just as long.
Great news serp202
I kept my Forsaken gods disc due to bad performance heavy stutter and now is the right time to play
Retail version, I'm sure the stand-alone patch will be out shortly.
EDIT: Seems so.
The patch is out:
