So i have been dying to play with one of these 8350k's. Got a new one on the cheap, so spent 50 bucks to send it to silicon lottery for de-lid and binning. Wish me luck. Anybody else got one? I feel like 4.7 or 4.8 is not an unreasonable oc for it. Got a spare noctua nh-d15 i'm gonna slap on it (space is not a concern)...or i may rig up a peltier for it if that doesn't cut it. Any thoughts?

Even 5Ghz should not be big issue if ya got better piece :) after that it's fast as i5-8400 most of time.

Wanted something with a bit more kick than that, plus I haven't had an intel box in a while. It's just a secondary system anyways, mostly for when company comes to the house and wants to play on the LAN.

After they de-lid it, they put it through its paces and report the results to you. Its nice, because if they screw it up, they will replace it. Nice to know what you can expect from a chip.
