Thats Ok big ROBOT bill ...we all know you got a bad ass looking cat!....
Mitzi is awesome!
Nine lives and Meow MIx are the main two I buy. Plus he and Mona get a lot of scrap food.
I had to fix
Mitzi only gets dried and only the one type, she has no problems and no runny messes. We also never give her any of our food so she never hassles when we make dinner/eat dinner
Probably wise, I got lucky with mine I suppose.
When he was a kitten he would buzz round me for scraps but didnt have any until after we had finished. He always has some (if it isnt curry etc.), he is respected like a person.
Since then he realised how it affects him and goes somewhere else when we eat, sort of like its beneath him to beg lol (not that he has to).
Then I say "dya want some" or "whassis" (whats this) and he comes running.
I use different words for his food or treats, ie "dya want some food/munchies" and "dya want a treat".
He understands the difference between each and responds appropriately, whether he does or doesnt want.
He doesnt get a treat every day so he knows they are special.
This is how I got him to let me pick twigs/leaves/slugs etc out of his fur. I used to get chomped hard if I didnt stop after the first growl, him being of wild stock.
So I said "dya wanna treat" while doing it and instantly he let me do what I want hahah.
I felt foolish for waiting 4 years before trying that.
He isnt allowed to jump up while I am eating and doesnt ever go hunting for food/treats, he is happy to ask or be given.
I can leave his treats laying around and they never get touched, yet he knows whats in the packet and absolutely loves them. I didnt even tell him not to touch them either, amazing.
If I am preparing food in the kitchen he wont jump up on the surface because he was told no as a kitten. I've monitored him with cameras many times.
He always comes home when called.
I've not known a cat that does what its told and doesnt break rules when there are no controls in place.
Soz for rambling
Here's George Carlin's take on cats and dogs:
