Seems like a lot of hassle to have to go into your phone to 'accept' yourself, surely it's quicker and simpler to type in your password

So it uses device id or something like that as password. What an "innovation". My bank app does that already for auto-pin.

Agree with Morbias, seems like a lot of hassle! It takes like 10 seconds to type in a password!

1- You are permanently logged, and surveyed. Cannot log out.
2- You cannot have more than one account.
3- Other people cannot use your hardware to check his account.
4- It is really hard or impossible to sell your phone without your account.
5- If your phone is stolen, also your data, identity and e-mail is stolen. Robbers do not need your password, only your phone.

It's pretty simple Google, if you ever try to make this compulsory, people will leave your platform in droves.

This is one of the stupidest ideas I've seen in recent history.

You know just us your imagination:
"Log" with your phone to know your location,to know your IMEI,to know your real name(from operator db),to know your contacts and so on. :)
Good luck if your phone is stoled, not.

I don't see the problem with it.

I mean if your phone is stolen and you don't have a lockscreen, all your google info is available to the thief anyway. If you do have a lockscreen, then I would argue that your more secure than having a password.

That ultimately depends on how long/complex your password is if you have a complex password it can be a pain in the ass to type it in manually, although I'd assume something like Keypass/whatever have mobile apps that work in a simular way.
