Just downloaded it, seems faster, but less functions than IE7. I don't use Firefox so I don't know how different it is than that. Just noticed it has built in spell checker for posting!
I use Safari on XP and it has spell checker as well. Its really awsome i love it. I wouldnt trust a browser from Google honestly.
You know damn well they will bundle it with that pc of junk toolbar when its released...I'll stay away from it and stick to Firefox!
Welcome to capitalism but seriously, google rapes my privacy enough already. I think I'll give their browser a pass for now.
true on both accounts , ive a serious problem with googles info gathering and storage, i hope the EU prevent them from holding user info beyond 6 months
the browser is much like firefox, only faster, each tab is a seperate process so if one has a problem the rest don't go down. I'm using it right now, and its really good!
lets just hope they let us customize it a bit more in the next beta like a File Menu and shart unless I am just blind
Not bad, nice and minimal and clean, just how I like it. The only thing I don't like, is when a new tab is opened, it shows you're history and latest bookmarks etc, I'm just not interested in that kind of stuff, I want a blank page. I'm sure as they develop it more they'll add a few tweaks to it.
I think the best feature for someone like me that works with in-browser application is the possibility of "creating" application. The various online tools that I use for work are now shortcut on my desktop and appear as normal windows without the for/backward arrow and all those little things that usually f0ck up your work.
Thought id give it a shot anyway. Gotta say im impressed although MSN doesnt appear to support this browser? As i tried to veiw a video on there and it said browser not supported. Other than that its ultra fast, cool lookin, im not much for multi-tabbing for some reason i prefer just opening a new window for another link. I dont know how well the security is but its nice that it lets you see all the cookies and you can manually delete them. So id give it a 10. Question: Im watching the TM to watch chromes memory usage and so far it doesnt stray from 20MB but it will randomly create another exe of itself. Even if im just sitting on a site not clicking anything. Any idea what its doing? It will delete itself within a few seconds and only uses about 8MB memory. Hmm, now me thinks a resource hog....as i scroll down my process list i find another chrome exe running and its 30MB. So now its running 21MB plus another 30MB plus the random 8MB that comes and goes. Def a fishy acting browser.... Look at the highlighted and then the second one down from that one and then continue looking down that list, 3 exes running just for one window:
first review There is also a first review on anandtech.com . It`s not very in-depth review though. I`m using FF and with all their plugins, skins....I don`t know. The newest version is much more stable too. I wish the firefox had the ability to crash one tab like chrome....otherwise I like my :flame:firefox:flame:
Now we just need Google OS... Then some time and we have Google PC and bang. Good bye Apple. I didn't try that because my K-Meleon is working fine. No need to change. Looks nothing special.
So fresh and so clean clean... I like this browser a lot more then Firefox, but I still think Opera is better
Read the user license. Chrome saves and submits more data to Google than any Microsoft release ever did.
