    Hey there,

im still using the old Radeon 9800 Pro Card and im happy with it, because i just play world of warcraft and sometimes bf2142...those games could run better but they are playable so i dont need a new card for now...

Im going to reinstall windows xp in the next days, so im looking for the best driver for the radeon 9800 pro. Currently i have the newest driver installed but i know that older drivers might get me some extra fps in those above mentioned games.

So which driver should i install ? Do you have any suggestions ?

    Thx in advance.

PS: English iss not my motherlanguage so excuse me if i not everything makes sense hehe

it's up ta you man.... i'd use one of the Modified cat drivers with ATT instead of control panel.. i was using DNA 7.2's and was lovin the IQ and fps nothing outta this world by any means because of old technology but playable and enjoyable.

ATT = Ati tray Tools available here http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733

i found that 16x aniso and 2x AA worked the best for balance between playability and looks. i'd also think about takin off your Heatsink and checkin out what core you have as well as which memory.... cause flashing to the XT bios is easy as pie and i did notice a difference.

Hey thx for your reply kronic.

I had the cat 7.5 driver together with ATT installed but i think i got a lot less FPS now then before, when i had the 6.12 driver installed.

I think i give the omega drivers another chance and see if i can get a few more fps out of them.

^^ no its not safe, probaly not even worth it today.

Id recommend just simple ATI tool, overclock it, but make sure to keep it cool. the memory likes to get hot. try 403core 355 thats a decent clock, its stable on my pro. and its very close to XT speeds. which are 412, 365

send me a Pm if u got any questions.

EDIT: this might help u if u wanna pursue this. But its so old some links dont work :(
