So, ive had the sudden urge for "racing" games as of late, dunno why, but i just have....

Il happily try/play most things, im currently *yarr pirates!* getting hold of DIRT.

I do not like games like Forza 2, or Gran Turismo, nothing like that, more along the lines of speedy arcade games, with possibly some online actions...

    any idea's lemme know :D

had it a while ago, found some of the stunt/puzzle like tracks to be quite entertaining. might give it another go, any more suggestions?

The graphics are amazing, but the game is best played with an Xbox 360 controller. I prefer to play it in Driver camera mode, it took me 6 races to figure out that's the easiest way to drive.

FlatOut 2 is the most fun I've had from a driving game in ages. Need for Speed Most Wanted and Carbon are worth checking out too.

RFactor is the best RaceSim for the PC, LFS comes a close second but the mods available for RFactor make it a Must have.
Check these mods out here all Free for Download. Currently 126 mods available Free.
    http://www.rfactorcentral.com/list.cfm?cat=Cars

There are also 270 tracks for download available here
    http://www.rfactorcentral.com/list.cfm?cat=Tracks

A mod & a collection of tracks to keep any online racer happy, a Massive online community & loads of servers occupied & ready to race.

Also a mention is needed for Richard Burns Rally. RBR is the Supreme test for PC drivers/racers. It is getting on a bit but still stands up there as the Bet ever rally game on the PC. Massive learning curve but when mastered is the most satisfying driver out there.

ROFL Trackmania? LOL that's a bit of a joke.

For real racing fun it's rFactor then GTL. GTR series are good too but rFactor is the best for online racing and by far the most varied as there are many mods available

I suppose it depends on whether you want a "game" or something more realistic. For more realistic racing avoid titles like NFS and Trackmania, which are just games and nothing more.
