Specifically Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI.

I was wondering if anyone had some good tips for things to see, places to stay etc. The only area I haven't booked a hotel in yet is Halifax, NS, which I'll be for 3 nights.

Halifax is a good time... definitely go to the Alexander Keiths brewery. I don't live on the east coast but when I went there it was fun. Everyone is so nice (although I live in Toronto, so everyone is nice compared to here).

Canada for sure has great breweries! I live about 20 minutes away from the US/Canada border so I've been all over Canada many many times. They are much more cultured/diverse than Americans--great beer! Everyone is very intelligent and fit, you will have a great time! However Canada is also very expensive, anything you do will cost you money, and if you smoke bring your own cigarettes because theirs are garbage, also the price of fuel is very high and you can only buy alcohol certain places (in Ontario), anyways enjoy your trip!

Haha, I like Canadian cigarettes far more than American ones. Much smoother! But I must agree with you, our prices on things are stupid sometimes. Not to mention 13% tax...

But yeah gas is even more ridiculous. $1.30/L...

You will like it for sure. :D

Out of curiosity, why did you pick those 3 specific locations?

Is Oak Island public or private? I'd like to see the money pit some day. looks like you'll be pretty close when in Halifax.

You could probably charter a boat to take you there. There is public access.

My wife and I enjoy outdoors stuff as well as learning new, different cultures. [edit] Also, my wife lived in Winnepeg (winterpeg) for a while. I'd like to try the different styles of food and drinks too (never had poutine). I've seen lots of great things in those areas and it looks like it would be a great area to visit. I'm really excited to see the Bay of Funday too (highest tidal range in the world!).

I believe there's a few other micro breweries around (or at least available to sample) and some wine.

    Also, the seafood!

We are planning on touring Alexander Keith's even though I'm not a huge fan of their beer (esp. since owned by AB-InBev now)..should still be fun though and I'll definitely drink it. We're going to land in Halifax and get a car so we can do things at our own pace. Definitely not looking forward to the price of gas but can't do much about that. I feel like I'm forgetting something else...but I'll post later if I remember.

Chillin - I've been to Alaska. Much longer flight :)

From what I've seen it sounds like we picked a good place to go! I'm really looking forward to it. We will be going the first week of June. Anything to look out for at that time?

You'll want to see Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg, Cape Breton, Annapolis Valley, Bay of Fundy....that's just Nova Scotia, I could go on.

Magnetic Hill in New Brunswick is always trippy lol. I loved Cape Breton, Bay of Fundy, Peggy's Cove and you have to see the Anne of Green Gables farm if you're in PEI.

I don't know if you are joking but there are A LOT Canadians that are with Communist and Socialist ideals. That is why I consider them to be basically as close to perfect country as possible. Their women are super nice and hot and when comes to religion there always someone who is like me total Atheist :D Canada the best!

P.S Not to forget their nature has no match!

Just got back and sorted through my pics from my dslr. Just now realizing I have a "spot" on my sensor. Sigh.... That can be cleaned at least. Easily cleaned with gimp or something though as well.

    https://picasaweb.google.com/100912730557633223415/Canada

Main places were St. John, New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia. I haven't put captions on the images yet for location so if you have any questions let me know. Also, if you want full res. images I'm happy to email or give you a link. As long as you don't mind editing the image yourself to get the stupid camera's sensor "spot" out :). I know it's the sensor because I used a couple different lenses. It was also rainy a few days which didn't help!

All I can say is it was an incredible journey. There was so much to see. We put around 1000 miles on our rental driving around. The seafood is stupidly good.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions!
