There probably isn't much of a market for them. pretty sure there aren't even that many hardcore gamers that splurge for a 30" monitor with 2560x1600 resolution just because of sheer monitor size and price. And i'm damn near positive you'd never see your average joe buy one simply because 1080p is what's crammed down everyone's throat... not realising that higher resolutions = better quality.

you would expect the next logical step would be to start making more and more bigger and higher res ones at a lower price...... unless we have to wait for TV medium to catch up, ie, SUPER HD TV's which will then result in another new standard for HD, thus opening the market

    i went from a 21in 16:10, to a 23in 1080p, to a 32in 1080p, to a 42in 1080p. 32in was the sweet spot for res and real estate imo. back to the 32 and no complaints.

Went from a 19" CRT to a 21.5" LED-backlit TN Panel monitor, not that big of a difference I think, I do like the sharpness of the image, though.

i know my lcd's are a little old but i cant switch because nothing hits my interest since almost all screens are 16:9 and i just cant do that..i love 16:10

as far as the detail, i understand some people arent as picky as others, my brother cant tell the difference between standard def and 720p however me i think anything less then 720p is disgusting at best...also 1080p is nice but no carrier like verizon etc for hd tv is higher then 720p so when i bought my plasma 5+ yrs ago i went with 720p since i got a hell of a deal, however next screen is going to be 60+ " and 1080p for sure.

I tried that as well (32" 1080) and it was the most gorgeous IQ in gaming I've ever seen. Looks good in PC use as well, but a bit too bright. So prefer not to use it as a full time PC screen.

i went from a 15 inch 1024*768 to what i have now 22inch 1920*1080,for me it was a massive improvement.

Reason i stuck with the 15 inch was for BF2 back in 2005 till 2008,it was all i used to play and he 15 inch served me good.

My next monitor will be a 24 inch IPS when BF3 is released, along with a kick ass Keplar card as long as there good:)

Yeah, though going from a lower resolution to a higher is okay (while going from 16:10 to 16:9).

well i'm happy to bits i went from 16:10 to 5:4 then to 16:9 (present) and this is definitely the best for me.

screen fits much more on, is crisper, and the resolution is just perfect. I wish i'd got a 1080 from the very beginning....

Ah okay, mine could be completely different then, it's the BenQ G2222HDL, cost around £105, think its decent for the price though. :)

I've had a Dell 2407WFP-HC since 2007 and, aside from some funny issues with the monitor itself which always clear up on their own, I've decided to play around with using my Hitachi 32" Ultravision 1080p for my computer. So far I've enjoyed it. The image is, obviously, not as crisp as the 24". The 120 pixels lost vertically aren't generally noticable and the wider aspect ration in shooters is actually preferable. It's definitely a lot brighter though, and eye strain is noticable with lots of white. Frankly, what it has shown me though is that I really, really want one of those 27" monitors running at 2560x1440. I'd keep the wider aspect ratio, as I definitely prefer it for the gain in horizontal viewing in games, and get the higher resolution. Overall, I would say it has been a good learning experience.

My next monitor will be an IPS thats at least 120mhz.... but hopefully this one will do me the now...... its super crisp, super thin and has a blue bit that fits my rig :D
