Tower Hamlets town hall in London flew the Palestinian flag last week, It was stolen though so they had to raise a new one.

    I don't agree with it.

I'm not a Weegie ( a person from Glasgow) but I do live within a 20 minute drive. So Glasgow is my area's city.

It wouldn't upset the Palestinian community in Glasgow and it wouldn't upset the Jewish community either if it wasn't flown.
    As for human rights issues...
I didn't see Rwanda's flag being flown during the genocide that the world found more convenient to look away from.

Yeah I also get it they're twinned, but city/town twinning is a crock of meaningless sh*t to the vast majority of people anyway.

After all, there's a Nelson Mandela Square in Glasgow.
    So why worry?
Looking forward to the day when Glasgow Corporation decide to name one of their streets Robert Mugabe Terrace. ;)

    Nor do I :)

I'm in total disagreement with the way Israel is conducting its business ATM but I just don't see the need for Glasgow City to be taking sides.

    *Side note

Do any Scottish guru's ever meet up for a swally ?

    This.

It's like those stupid Facebook posts that are meant to change the world. It's just a waste of everybody's time... Flying a flag isn't going to change anything.

Maybe if Edinburgh was populated with radical muslims and shooting thousands of rockets into Glasgow as well as sending women into your city wearing suicide vests, you would have a better understanding of the Israeli situation.
Oh and in that add that the world is "outraged" that you respond to that attack. Very logical.

Keep believing all sorts of lies. Justifies your existence.

Wouldn't be hard for the world's top criminal bullies to do. Regardless, still cowards who have no business in the region whatsoever. You're going to come into someone else's land, you deserve to be pulverized.

Glasgow? I had business there once... once. The cabin crew suggested we all go out and club it. I had no option. It was that or one of their B&Bs. I figured it'd be safer on the streets. For the first time ever I saw the Scotch in their natural habitat, and it weren't pretty. I'd seen them huddling in stations before, being loud but… this time I was surrounded. Everywhere I went it felt like they were watching me; fish-white flesh puckered by the Highland breeze; tight eyes peering out for fresh meat; screechy, booze-soaked voices hollering out for a taxi to take 'em halfway up the road to the next all-night watering hole. A shatter of glass; a round of applause; a sixteen-year-old mother of three vomiting in an open sewer, bairns looking on, chewing on potato cakes. I ain’t never going back… not never.
But seriously I would have been proud too. Everyone should support the oppressed :) Love Scotch people <3
