I think it's your PSU :nerd:

    Ran as admin, right?

As for PSU, it would be strange that GPU goes to 3d clocks and full usage without crashing. PSU generally causes reboots or freezing at least, as far as I know at full load it's supposed either way to work perfectly or not at all and nothing in the middle, so obviously FPS couldn't be affected (?).
The only thing to make sure that it is hardware/bios related is to reinstall windows or boot into linux and run bench.

Either way, report back when you'll figure out something! :)

Don't forget to use the CAT 12.11...huge difference specially if you play BF3

    Thanks.
    Tested 12.11 beta already - didn't help.

    Greetings everyone,

as I promised this weekend I did entire system rebuild with new procesor, mobo, RAM, SSD and faster HDD, and situation is now:

    Results with old system build:

    Results with new system build:

And, just for comparision, results of colleague Xzibit:

Obviously there was something in my system that was holding my card back. I wish to thank everyone that participated in this thread and tried to help.

    Yep, from Zalman 500-GS (500 W) to Corsair TX850W.

It's possible your CPU was to blame...an extra 300mhz prob made the difference.

Don't forget to OC that 3570K..;)

Ok, now this issue is settled I run into another one.

I can't overclock this card past 1050/1375 as I get drivers crashing. This was happening on my old build and then I blamed the PSU (500 W), but it's also happening now on my new build (Corsair TX850). I'm using 12.10 drivers.

Question to owners of this card - how does your card performing related to overclocking? Is voltage tweaking necessary? Which OC tool gives the ability to tweak voltage?

    Thanks. :)

ASUS Probe for these cards is prob the best. It let's you set 2D clocks and voltage (which correctly idles), but most importantly, it provides unlimited overclocking (enable overclocking enhancement in settings)

Saphire trixx - great tool but it prevents voltage from automatically decreasing when in 2D clocks
MSI Afterburner - no voltage control (at least for me) and limited overclocking

did you try with lower vram OC and higher gpu clock?

btw your old bugged Heaven score was even lower then my 570gtx OC'ed, i got 40fps at those settings, good that you got it fixed :D

    vBIOS update fail:
Have you switched your card bios to 2nd slot where writing is possible? 1st slot should be write protected in case of you mess up.
Anyway, your image of new score is missing :)
Bad OC capability may be caused by several things:
Probable: BIOS with too tight memory timing/ bad voltage tables.
Less probable: You use same power branch of PSU which is used to power other part of system = less power for card. Bad contact in PSU plug to card.
Not probable: Electrical network is not stable and causes minor fluctuations.
Very improbable: Card manufactured with memory chips not capable to reach 1500MHz.

12.11 are the driver to use IMO.
unless you get some strange things happening of coruse ;)
if the card crash, try increase fan speed to take note if heat is an issue.
