I believe your temperature is fine and in specification, Gigabyte has about two or three different 2060 super versions, the one you have is the more affordable of what they offer. They deliberately cripple the cards thermal capabilities by installing a 2 fan cooler on the card so they don't compete with the higher tier ones which have a 3 fan cooler design and a higher boost clock.

If they did not went that route nobody would buy their higher tier card with better cooling, the chips and the card itself are essentially the same on all models but the cooling solution they provide determines your maximum boost clock. You either have to replace your current cooling on the card or you have to trade it for a 3 fan cooler design. You can also under volt or under clock your maximum boost to a lower mhz in order for the temperature to drop.

I had the same dilemma with my Galax 2080ti which was the more affordable one with a dual fan cooler, my temps reached 85C. I replaced the cooling on it with a kraken g12 and a single radiator aio and now my card boosts 2050mhz while staying at 70C.

You really don't have to worry about your temperature, 80C range is still in perfect operating temperature. Consider replacing your cooling if your cooler is too loud for your liking, or if you want to overclock your gpu to a higher boost clock.

Congratz on the new card my man ! I'm gonna stick with mine till the 3xxx series drops i guess. I mean, 80+ degrees is hot, but not dangerous hot.

 

I don’t see the point of waiting for the 3000 series, the 2000 series is enough for another 4-5 years. Yes, and I was lucky with the buyer, he came and took it himself. and I had a little savings on the new processor and I decided to take the 2070super

 

How is the cooling on that card?

How did it go?

 

while everything was wonderful, the video card heated up to a maximum of 64 degrees, played about Assassins Creed Odyssey for about an hour, tried a couple of benchmarks(Time spy,Superposition Benchmark, Heaven Benchmark 4.0) everything was fine. it in passive mode while surfing and YouTube holds 33-35 degrees. up to 60 degrees it is in the passive mode and simple games do not start its fans, if you start something more demanding then the fans rotate by 50% at 64C. I haven’t tried to overclock yet because I have an old power supply; as I buy a new one, I will overclock it since there is decent potential.

For anyone still looking for a fix : Undervolt your card. I undervolted my card a while ago and my temps went from 83 degrees on 100% gpu usage to max 72 degrees on 100% gpu usage without losing any performance.
