I'm choosing between this two m/b Gigabyte EP45-DS3L and EP45-UD3R. As I see UD3R has better chipset cooling and RAID. Is it all differences? I will use it along with Q6600. Is it worth to pay extra 50$ for it, if I do not need RAID and not planning to go higher then 3-3,2GHz Did I missed any other differences? Thanks for answers!
The UD3R is a much more robust board, in all fronts: OCing, RAID, stability, CPU PWM... If I were you, I'd spend those extra $50, you won't regret it.
Hi... since someone created tis thread regarding Gigabyte EP45-UD3R.... I wanted to ask some qns regarding tis mobo... I just recently owned tis mobo.. everyting runs fine and good... it looks nice also... so my qns is whether do I need flash my bios to newer version??.. is there any pros and cons of flashing my bios??... thanks... sorry for the off topic... and btw to the thread starter... b4 i bought tis mobo... i also search around and found tat tis mobo have a lot of fans.. so though it is not the best of all the mobo.. but definitely a good mobo...
If you are not going to overclock, get the DS3L. But if you are going to overclock, the UD3R would be a better choice. The Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3 series boards overclock better then the Asus P5Q series boards, especially with quads, from what I can gather from the XS forums.
