i've set my auzentech hthd card to 24 bit, 96,000 hz. when i play a normal cd quality file does it get resampled to 96,000 hz in hardware or by windows 7 in software? does windows 7 futz with the resampling at all? if so is ASIO or Wasapi necessary to bypass winows 7? or should i resample everything in foobar 2000 uing one of the resampler plugins? i would like to keep my card set at 96,000 khz at all times so i assume that there's resampling happening somewhere along the line no matter what unless im playing a file that's 96,000 khz. im just looking for the ideal way to handle this resampling.
