It's been rumored that new variants of the GTX 1650 based on a TU106 (RTX 2060/2070) would make their way on the market, and today Galax announced the first TU106-based "GTX 1650 Ultra", ... GeForceGTX 1650 "Ultra”, based on TU106, starts to appear
Wish nvidia would bring the naming back for the top end cards instead of Ti. Rtx 3080 ultra sounds badass Btw, how much more are we gonna see this 1650's, who buys them anyway.
Many DELL users with ~230 PSU desktops (including myself), home theater, mini PCs etc... AMD's offering for these users is RX 560, so there is actually NO competition at all.
People on tight budgets that want to game and don't mind running reduced settings but refuse to buy AMD.....or people with SFF chassis that require low profile cards. If I hadn't still had my RX470 laying around when my 1660Ti crapped itself, my son would be running a 1650 Super right now....
With the "Trump's tax" having hit country that he doesn't like, understand or know where it is (more or less +25%), think that a 2080Ti cost twice the price of a second hand city car... So a lot of people are interested in GTX 1650/1660 or RX 5500 card right now. Not everyone have enough money to spend much for a PC GPU, and those card are just a big hit for AMD and NVidia (big hit mean lot of cashflow)...
Bingo. That's precisely where I'm at right now - I need to replace my sucky 1050ti, and am waiting for the new 3000 series to check prices, but I will probably end up either at the cheap versions of new cards or less cheaper cards from this gen, like 1660Ti or 2060, if discounted. Market for more expensive cards is MUCH smaller - not everyone can afford super expensive gaming, especially when you can cheap out and still play all the most recent games just fine. Hell, I'm from a time when games would outright refuse to run if your specs weren't at a certain level, while nowdays pretty much any card can run even the most recent games. It won't be pretty, but it will run.
a lot... lol 1650 DDR5 1650 OEM DDR5 lower clock (full) 1650 OEM DDR5 lower clock (small bandwith) 1650 Super DDR6 1650 "Ultra" DDR6 1650 DDR6 (normal not super) maybe i miss some, in the end if it fill the need of user, it's ok.
