I might actual want to buy new gpu IF 4060 use that much wattage and 2 fold over 3060, and you can actual buy them

Man I can't WAIT to get my hands on this hardware!!! So happy I returned to the PC community. This is very exciting and great news if these rumors are true. The 7000 series from AMD is also turning heads. We have some great tech to look forward to. My current system is still giving me great performance and great gaming sessions. I just made a few tweaks that's given me a few extra frames of happiness.

If the 4090 is actually double the performance I'm gonna flip. To be honest this sounds too good to be true. I'm going to prep myself for 40-50%. Anything over that will be a very pleasant and welcomed surprise. We also have great CPU's on the horizon also.

    Exciting times Dudes and Dudettes!

Yup, doubling the Perf of the previous highest end GPU has never happened before so it would be fun to experience history being made :D (Pascal was pretty close)

Maybe it's going to be twice the raytracing performance vs last gen :)

Hopefully that will be their price list when millions of Ampere cards are sold off by mining farms over next few months. :D

    Twice the performance?!

Sincerely, i don`t believe but maybe they will prove me wrong.

But more important than pure performance, are decent prices, so let`s see how Nvidia handles this (crucial) aspect...

People willing to spend 6000 for top tier gpu seem very happy. Enjoy your bubble.

Your 1080ti vs 980ti should tell you it is quite possible...

    fingers crossed.

It was mentioned earlier, this will no doubt be Ray Tracing performance.

    Dependable too!...good stuff!

if I could find a 1080ti at a good price, I would go for it!

Remember 980ti was the same performance as 1070 and from 1070 to 1080ti even tho Pascal was amazing it still wasnt the twice the performance.

Yep^....But, keep in mind, I upgraded from 960 to a 1060 and it was double performance. (budget guy here)

    Trust me on that one.

I do believe that. Still have one in my laptop the 80w version plays anything even today. :)

Pascall was too good. A huge jump in performance.
nVidia is unlikely to make that "mistake" again.

Hey Buddy, Believe it or not the dude that sold me that GTX 1060 back then shipped it in a new GTX 1070 box! (his upgrade)

I swear I stared at that box and cracked a beer wondering if there was a real 1070 in there?...:p

    Gotta agree.
I bought an FE at launch and fitted an Accelero Xtreme cooler.
Its still used in the living room on this, my practically silent 6700K based browsing/light gaming machine, inside a table :)
I'm amazed how well it still holds up for gaming.

Its that good I'm playing many older and updated games like Skyrim Anniversary Edition which tickle its power meter lol.
Unfortunately, my 3090 hardly sees any use but at least that saves on electric.
I'm not a fan of these huge power draw cards now, I'll be waiting for a reduction in power use before I change my 3090, which may never happen.
Otherwise, at some point PC gaming hardware sales will suffer unless electricity magically gets cheaper instead of the continual heavy upward pricing!

The reason I say a power use drop may never happen is because die shrinks no longer give the benefits of old and higher current is needed to keep frequencies up.
Once RT performance has stabilised, the only way of getting more performance is to push the cards even harder/hotter.
I can see the day liquid cooling becomes the norm because there is no other choice.
Then a doubling of performance will need twice the silicon at near twice the power use, then games will have to focus less on graphics improvements because doubling power use every 2 gens isnt sustainable.

Hmm, slightly rambled on there with some of my fears :(

I suggest you not run GTX 9800 in SLI.

    Trust me on that one.
