Yeah, I said this before - all the stock that was at MSRP here in Poland is long gone. Sold out in the first two days of release. The 4080S at MSRP is flying off the shelves - my only question is whether etailers have erred on the side of caution and simply ordered very limited stock or whether Nvidia/AIBs underestimated demand and focused more on the 4070S and the 4070TiS.

Mind you - this is only MSRP stock. Anything above the MSRP (4999PLN) is still available in volume.

    Always happens, nothing new.
There are always some hungry buyers of new products, but their quantity is usually limited.

Still, 4080 at $1000 is "acceptable" in today's market, considering it's technological superiority over similarly priced products from the competition, but that doesn't mean it's a good value card, far from it. It's just "the fastest you can get without selling your kidneys for it"

4080S is an absolute bargain, smashes a 3080Ti to bits for way less money.

You keep comparing current prices to the mining prices few years ago for some odd reason. 3080ti on the used market right now cost 550-600Eur so half the price of 4080super.

The cheapest I can find a new 3080 Ti in stock over here is slightly above 1000 Euro, whereas the cheapest new 4080 Super in stock around here is slighly below 1100 Euro (although most are at 1600+ Euro for whatever reason, which is just insane).

Look at the chart above bud, goes from April 2022 to Jan 2024.
And obviously im comparing new for new, pointless comparing new and 2nd hand, it means nothing.

Only four of the 19 versions are currently in stock, cheapest being £1050, those sub £1000 cards sold out almost instantly.

Without knowing the initial stock numbers, this means very little.

I`ve just checked and the 4080 super costs more than 1.100€ in Portugal...

But plenty of stock for those interested!

And the Asus 4080 Noctua costs almost 1.600€!:D

Compared to stock for 4070S and 4070TiS the week after launch, they have likely sold more.
Plenty of stock currently for the new S models and the 4090 which may indicate those looking at cards above and below the 4080 have gone for the 4080S.

400 Euros for three fans, noice.

LOL the price is still insane. I used to build whole PCs for less than this "discounted" 4080super. And it included a GTX x70 range of a card.

I have absolutely no idea, who on earth can buy this. Are ppl really just a junkies who pay anything the dealer asks for? Because it for sure appears to be that way, and the dealer is well aware of it.

    Sick

Than u run the latest and greatest AAA game, which is just a bore fest and 5th copy of a copy, soul-less husk of a game.

Its really crazy what this all turned into. Good old days are long gone. Im glad I enjoyed it while it lasted, good original games you can run on a normal HW.

EDIT: For effs sake, you can buy a used car for a price of this glorified brick

this sum it quite nicely imo
70/ti series use be around $400~$450 now it $600~$800 this much bigger jump price then xx80 and now xx90 series seen only the lesser cards alot less gains

I want new card but I cant bring my self to pay price for 70 or 70ti series even. and i probably wont till i "need" new gpu cause it died

I payed 450$ for 1070ti which was my limits, 800 for 4070ti anit happen, and 4060 series are joke when compared to last gen even with price being only slightly higher

This is a post I made in another thread. This is just to give some perspective. PC gaming has always been expensive. It was far more expensive 30 years ago. In today's world video card manufacturer's prices are high but the other components are much cheaper. I remember when top of the line processors were $1000. Back in 98 I had over $900 of video cards in my PC with my base card and 3DFX cards in SLI. $900 adjusted inflation from 1998 is $1693.69.

Yes, top tier PC gaming has always been expensive, but technological advancement was supposed to make things cheaper. And it did. For nearly half a century PCs and PC components have steadily been getting cheaper, and none of the companies had any problem making a steady profit. Until 2019. Over a period of just a couple of years we've snapped back to 2000 prices - and that's not good for anyone.

You both are absolutely correct and I agree. What I should've articulated in my post is that for a cheaper price you can still build an awesome gaming rig for $1300 during the holiday season depending on where you live. Pick your poison between the 4070TI and now the 7900XT. I personally witnessed the 4070TI for $670 in November and December.

I've personally played with the 4070TI and my neighbor has the 7900XT. Both cards are MONSTERS and they rock. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Now that we have the Framegen file we are seeing unparalleled performance lifts with GTX and RTX cards.

I've always built heavy rigs and all of them were over $1300. If you're looking to upgrade it might be good to make a move if you can.

no such thing as of bad card, all cards are great, Badly price cards are problem.

DLSS/FG are not selling point to me ( seen it in action and played with them on my cousin pc) and even he say DLSS make games look worse too him CP 2077 no setting he could find made it look better too him or me then native 1440p (if you can ignore all the draws back from using scaler then i guess it can be better looking), while other will say it make it look better, which highly subjective.

I want to see Raw gains Nvidia show gains use DLSS vs DLSS and FG now almost none of there charts show raw gains anymore. review outlet are only place really show that now.

I curious to if there will be 4060/ti super hopes i might jump on that if it actual worth of being called 4060/ti, but 128bit with share cache for memory that really only effective @ 1080p and so long there cache is big no to me

    Fellow Guru,

You paid $700 or more for your 3080. Most of us are enthusiast and we love this hobby. Don't knock us for buying the products we like.

Have you tried the framegen file? The file will give you a crazy performance lift while maintaining great image quality. I've tested many games with the framegen file. A few UI issues that will be corrected in time but make no mistake, your 3080 can become a 4080 in some applications. A combination of framegen with DLSS equals a winner.
