Yeah.. can't even begin to explain the anger. Definitely not paying 1000 euro for a 3080, and definitely not for a palit one, cuz nothing else is left.
Scalping at the highest level(shops) is just straight up disgusting, especially during these harsh times.

    That's 50€ more then a 3070 should cost .
Knew from the beginning the prices in the Nvidia launch video were bs.
500€ for the lowest in the line

You ware getting 1080 performance with a 350$ 2060 two years ago. Compare that to this situation today.

Compare to what? the 3060 hasn't even been mentioned yet. Currently imo you can't deduce anything from the pc market, apart from availability which is almost zero as you know.

All I know is I praise Allah every day for not having the hardware fever these days.
Buying hardware is stressful enough for me without having to go F5 hunting and then fretting if my purchase will actually arrive.

Yup, i'm totally cool rolling into 2021 with current rig. Positive though the new consoles will make happen some stellar looking pc games for us all to upgrade for.

The 6700 (XT) will only be released in January, I believe, so in a sense I'd be waiting whether I like it or not, regardless of the abysmal supply situation. I won't consider either 3060 Ti or 6700 XT before I've seen the reviews of both. That being said, nobody knows how I long I'll still need to wait in 2021 before the cards are truly available with steady supplies and not bloated prices.

same here. I really wanted to have something around a 3060 this year, but I'm not THAT desperate to literally hunt for a single video card and pay like 500+ euros for a midranger

Neither AMD, nor nVidia is getting beaten. We are. And it is hard to miss since release of Ampere cards.

Vultures are scalping. Shops are scalping. Some AIBs are asking premium prices for cards that do not really carry any sort of premium.
For 99% of people which are not going to OC, AIB's cards vs reference provide only difference. And that's cooling capability, therefore noise profile.
From that 1% which will actually tune their cards, some will certainly OC. But many will undervolt too, because not everyone is comfortable with cards that eat 380W out of the box as some AIB 3080 do. (Or 330W like in case of 6800 XT Nitro+.)

What's the value in paying 20~40% more for 3~5% higher performance and 4dBA less?
And that's what those guys with AIB engineering and marketing do not get. People in general do not want their cards eat 350W. Most commonly, PSU in high end machine provides 750W.

What I am willing to pay for bit more from AIB is USB-C. (Just a bit more.)
But 20%+ price premium for just a bit better cooling? (Because reference cards have already good PCB design.)
You could likely find Turing card which will deliver higher value for money spent.

USD 550 for a 3060 is ridiculus! They dont have good supply, sold all of the 3070 and 3080 to miners and now ask this price of a 3060?!?!?! Just wild capilalism....

Sure, but I can buy 2080Ti in warranty, used, for less than or same money as they ask for 3060Ti, and 2080Ti is faster card, by quite a bit. So why in the hell would I buy 3060Ti for 700+ euros?

The high prices aren't all that bad. Even at reasonable prices, you're not going to get them anyway. Let the idiots burn their money and buy these, which will hopefully help fund a ramped-up production.

it is where I live, just a bit under 700, but cant get it, sold out or never had them in stock. 2060 Super is ~380 euros still...so we go and buy 1070Ti or 1080 for ~200 (used) instead...

All i can suggest is look very hard for a bargain, so long as you got 30 days warranty with it.
I'm surprised the cost of hardware isn't scaled back to a point where it becomes almost affordable in countries way behind the average living wage. You've opened my eyes a little friend, if i've got any spares after any upgrades i do i'll try hook you up, gx-x.
Big possibility i lose my job next week though cause i'm sick of being the mule every day for a scummy company. And next week i'm giving up one of my days and there ain't anything on this planet going to stop me.
    Be well.:)
