What if prices never settle and this becomes our reality? Gpus costing three times as more than before will definitely be the end for pc gaming as we know it.

My 3090 strix seems like a bargin at the 13500 dkk (1.850 euro) price i paid at launch by now.

Had a 2nd one, which i decided to just return to the shop... could have made a good deal of money, if i had just kept it and sold it on. Then again, dont wanna be a scummy scalper.

That would depend on the politicians. Now they are preaching about saving energy in every aspect of life, yet they do absolutely nothing about the miners using more energy than a small developed country. If the energy consumption used as much as Ireland already years ago, I imagine they must use as much as Finland by now. One article says they will use as much as Italy in 2023. It's utterly bonkers. Fridges are freezers need to be so optimised by the regulations that they will fail mechanically right after the warranty is over, but nobody cares about the miners. It makes me think politicians all over the world buy major amounts of drugs using crypto currencies, making them unwilling to try to control the scheme.

I'd paid what was effectively about 1100 Euro/940 Pounds (local $ converted to Euro/Pound) for my Nitro+ RX 6900 XT back on the 2nd of January. The price of the RTX 3000 and RX 6000 series cards are just mind boggling right now.

Pretty happy I had made the leap then and had not waited, though I sure as heck didn't think I was making a good decision back then. Mine was a locally distributed unit covered with warranty from the distributer, much better than an imported set as there'd be the hassle of postage costs, along with RMA return address needing a N. American address.

It sucks pretty hard when a lower quality Sapphire Pulse RX6800 16GB OC GPU now costs more than the Sapphire Nitro+ RX6800 16GB OC GPU I bought only a couple of months ago

    Pulse RX6800 = $1686NZD
    vs
    Nitro+ RX6800 =$1295NZD

don't even ask about RX6900 or nVidia RTX 3080 or 3090 prices here they cost more than my entire system by quite a bit

It just shows you how foolish people can be. Greed always blinds people. Especially the politicians. It's nothing new...

In my neck of the woods, even the lower end RX 6800 costs more than the Pulse you'd stated. A high end RX 6700 XT can cost up to 1500NZD, and we both know the RX 6700 XT is nowhere close to the RX 6800 in performance, not even in the same league.

My Nitro+ RX 6900 XT cost me about 1840 NZD back in January (local $ converted to NZD). I'd gotten a Nitro+ RX 6800 back at around its launch, cost me about 1200 NZD, so the price you'd paid for yours two months back is pretty decent.

How many people complained about the msrp of 2080Ti
Now they are paying the same money for a mid range VGA that is not even close to the 2080 Ti performance.
If this trend continues the PC gaming will be over sooner than we have thought that.

Why on Earth is making "substrates" so hard?

I think companies are just using excuses like COVID and some short supply issue to jack prices for much longer than is needed.

Don't say that there, its scary even think about it hahaha

I bought for friend Palit RTX 3090 GamingPro for £1780 few months back for his build,at the end he didn't took that or rather he didn't wanted that GPU, few days ago he sent me a message if I still have Palit RTX 3090 GamingPro for sale because he needs one...

That time I agree I paid bit more than I should for Palit RTX 3090 GamingPro because for such price I would have in perfect world RTX 3090 Strix OC

    Thanks, Jura

    Just stick with 1080p.

4K is a dead end with these prices.

We're never getting back to normal prices. 2020 was a bad year but 2021 is only getting worse.
