havent really done indepth testing, but seems Texture Filtering - Quality has very little or no effect on quality or performance, no idea if there is games that it would effect

with ati u gain perfomance boost shown in benchmarks when u set low quality

I never thought the day would come when I had to rant about Nvidia drivers but the micro-stuttering is getting a little annoying. I have installed every driver since the 185.18 and all of them cause stuttering in Fallout 3 including this one. The release notes claim a 14% improvement in Fallout 3 with this driver. Too bad the stuttering was so bad I couldn't tell.

I've never experienced stuttering in any game until the release of the 186.21 and every driver since has been plagued with stuttering. With the 185.18 I get a constant 60FPS with no stuttering and only occasional drops in FPS. Every driver since has caused stuttering that makes the game unplayable.

I have the stuttering problem in Champions Online like the one i had with 191.00 and its unplayable. Too bad cause everything else (except fallout 3 ofc) seems to working fine.

    Thank You! Hope it'll work!
EDIT: I have followed the guide, but now I've noticed that the frequencies are always set in 3d performance mode... Even if I'm on the desktop they won't downclock?

It seems that I resolved this issue by downclocking the core from 750MHz to 730Mhz. I've played NFS: Shift for about an hour and nothing happened.
    Yeahhhhh!!!

    Good luck! :)

I think that these drivers are less "permissive" in OC than the previous series. This isn't a new issue, things like this already happened with older drivers.

Have you checked out the inbuilt profiles for stuff like 3DMark. They are way above any previous drivers so benchies are bound to suffer unless adjustments are made.

No, not really. I did take a casual look in the profiles but didn't notice anything unusual. But thanks, I'll look into it and see what I can do.

    The 190.62's don't seem bad across OS's.

This drivers sux. FPS drops to crap in AoC, but games like CoD4 CoD:WaW are all good but stuttery.Back to 190.62.

This happened to me twice in Men of War. Black screen for several seconds, then the signal came back.

@zipman - A 0.6 fps difference is within the margin of tolerable error so I'd say both those results suggest the drivers perform exactly the same on your system, at least for that particular game.
