So, if they try and bone you then you are going to wait a year and buy a card from them anyhow? I'm afraid that's not really going to give them a reason to change their marketing. They'll call that a market turn down. Let their market share drop, then they'll pay attention.

I'm telling you guys.....if you want the price to be near sane....start up "hell no nv will will not pay blah blah for your pos cards" thread and petitions.
it will work and its the only way at this point since amd is too po' to get any real innovations going, only franken card bs

Think of the bank they will make on refreshed 680's alone, they should be cheaper then 680's over inflated price not more.

I expect that if the rumours about the next AMD Drivers being able to fix the frame latency issue, that nvidia plans may go down the drain as theres no way in hell someone would buy their new cards for the rumoured price.

Dude seriously don't go there. Really. 7970 GHz > 680 in performance PERIOD.

This shouldn't be debatable anymore. Use your Google-Fu.

So true! And that's why I'm on a GTX680 OC & Modified. I only game with it, no compute tasks what so ever. Drivers are a dream and everything is smoother compared to the my experiences on AMD 6970 & 7970.

Guys just found locally an ASUS GTX 690 3 months old for 600euros!

Should I jump on it?? It seems like a good deal right??

Again US members take note that a 690 sells for around 850-900euros(1000-1200usd with conversion) here.

The only way prices for high end Nvidia cards will stay in the $400 to $500 area,is if AMD does something to dethrone Nvidia, and keep their own prices around where they are right now. That's probably not going to happen. With only two Video card companies, nothing less than a monopoly exists. If Nvidia can get $800 for one of their cards, why on earth wouldn't AMD charge the same? We're screwed guys.

High end card + un mature driver = GTFO !!!, They need more testing with new hardware and driver BEFORE release to the pubic out of box, Play all games that works and expensive ****.

I don't care about cowie's specs or what he buys or anything. Its not my business. And about the GTX 780(Coming Soon) in my specs, well I see nothing wrong with that or the fact that wishing for it if its I find it a good/appropriate product for my own needs.

And I was particularly referring to cowie's words:

"if you want the price to be near sane....start up "hell no nv will will not pay blah blah for your pos cards" thread and petitions.
it will work and its the only way at this point since amd is too po' to get any real innovations going, only franken card bs"

Which translates to me that if we want lower price we could TRY and put our FOOT down and force those overcharging overpricing companies get their act together.

We ARE the consumers. We HAVE the power. They NEED our money. Not the other way around.

As long as Americans will buy it for 800$ it will be overpriced like Titan is and Titan is selling like crazy in U.S.. In less rich countryies where people work for few time less money it will collect dust in wharehouses but who cares bcs. U.S. is the biggest market.
AMD is no better, 1000$ 7990 is the proof or 500$ launch price for 7970 who is not even the high end product at the end. Good old days with sub 400$ real high end single GPUs are gone or 600$ dual GPUs. PS4 here I come.

More people then not will just hand over there money not carry about price. Those are the people that give those companies the notion that its all good.. I for one have never payed for more then 399$ nor will I ever. IF prices keep going up I will just stick to consoles.
