Yeah I ordered it few hrs a go, I need to wait until 5.6.2013 so they get that Asus Z87 Deluxe in stock., maybe i'll get it this Saturday on 8th, that would be cool :nerd:

Well at first I was thinking of SB-e 3820 then upgrade to IB-e 6core, but idk it looks like a bad investment, real 8core IB-e would have looked more interesting (for longer run)... Ok with 6core i would get 4 extra threads, but I rather have 8 fast then 12 slow without extra functions :p

About consoles and 8threads etc, imo its just like your cpu or 2600k or 3770k or 4770k or Sb-e 3820.. AMD Jaguar has a little more sophisticated threading system, but its still 4 module based cpu with 8 threads and slower.
Imo HT has come a long way with IvyBridge (with Haswell even further). I wouldn't worry with 8 threaded cpu, but i would a little with a non HT cpu.. Kinda like Dual core vs quadcore

btw, thanks for that windows info, I will see with win7 & win8 dual boot, hopefully I can just plug and go, if not then i will try your trick :)

I'm facing a strange issue on my PC with the 780. On cold boots I get a blank screen or a frozen Windows splash screen yet it loads normally and even responds to the alt f4 command to restart. On this reboot it works normally. I don't understand :-S

I'm really loving my GTX 780 despite the driver issues (v320.18) with a few games. I was initially alarmed at the way the card favoured acoustics and low fan speeds over temperatures such that almost every demanding DX11 game would hit 80 C within minutes of playing, granted it never got any hotter instead lowering the clocks to keep the threshold.

I now have a custom fan profile set which ramps the fan up faster from 40 C, 50 C and then 80 C such that each of those steps is steeper than the last. This has resulted in temperatures of around 60-65 C in almost every game, even those with 4xMSAA and 4xSGSSAA forced. Crysis 3 is the only one that exceeds 70 C (it hits 72/73 C max. on Ultra, 1920x1200 settings with TXAA Med.). The fan noise is not noticeable for me at all but it is really nice to see such low temperatures, lower even than the ones I saw on my GTX 680s (albeit they boosted to a much higher 1,260-1,287 MHz than the 1,110 MHz I typically see on my GTX 780).

It's certainly a great card (which it ought to be for the price it costs!) but NVIDIA really need to get their act together on the driver IMO. I ditched SLI to get away from driver issues, ho-hum...

Darren, I think I have solved your problems. Your GTX 780 is clearly not a Gaming Edition. I guess you should have waited a bit.

Haha! Yeah. Seems a bit daft to call a card "Gaming Edition" when that is the main reason to buy any GTX 780! Maybe this "Gaming Edition" comes with NVIDIA drivers that actually... <gasp>... work!!! ;)

Count me in guys, just got mine and installed it, ASIC 76.2% and wow this cute honey is silent damn, i actually don't need a Arctic Cooler Xtreme 3 i guess, of course i didn't OC yet and didn't have time for games but at least i don't have that cold boot bug like lucidus has.

Finally i got rid of my CF 7970 which i loved it, i had no issues at all despite the FCAT/frametime/latency propaganda but the thing that really surprised me is how close (Crysis 3) is the GTX780 @ 1150/7000 compared to the CF 7970 (GHZ), now considering i play @ 1080p would you guys watercool the 780 or add another one for SLI (reference cards).

You have the exact same motherboard as me and I've never experienced that issue. Are you using the v2209 BIOS from late 2010, which I believe was the last one released by ASUS for the original P6T Deluxe?

Also, if you have an EVGA card then you can easily update the firmware on it using the links from here: http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1944772

Gentle people, I have a AMD 1055T overclocked to 3.2ghz. I currently run a GTX 680 and I get max utilization out of it with the mentioned CPU. The majority of you run Intel cpu's overclocked so bottlenecking isnt an issue. My simple questions is if anyone here has tried running a 780 on an AMD cpu and what kind of results were observed. I'm not talking about benchmarks but rather real world performance.

I've searched for benchmarks that may have been done but all tests with the 780 were done on Intel CPU's.

I get 98-99% usage all the time in GPU heavy games, no bottleneck here so far.

Great news, although your six cores are running at over 1ghz faster than mine.

I managed to fix it. It wasn't Nvidia's drivers to my surprise. I had to remove the motherboard battery for a minute to reset the bios, for some reason reset to defaults wasn't enough.

Share some result and tell us how does +250 core translate...IMHO 1150mhz, but you have to tell us, because those numbers with +offset varies quite depending on stock bios clocks/boost and etc.
