    hey guys

Im looking to upgrade my pc to a Core I7 950 3.06 GHz (only $10 more then the 930 off the site im getting it off "Mwave")

and a Asus Rampage III Extreme Mobo

Just wondering what the better combo would be for upgrading my graphics card from my current Geforce GTX 260.

I was thinking a Geforce GTX 460 SLI or a Geforce GTX 480 single

    What do ya reckon?

check out this review http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-460-sli-review/1 The 460 in SLI scales very well and beats the 480 in every game except metro. Make sure you have a decent power supply for this setup i would suggest nothing less than 850 watt quality psu so go for the 460 SLI. Hope this helps! :)

if u look in my pc specs to the left u will see i already have a zalmon 850 watt PSU so i should be good there.

Does SLI have any big issues these days, last time i had SLI was my two 7600 GT's and back then it was patchy with some things + should i use my soon to be redundent GTX 260 as a dedicated PhysX processor?

No need for extra PhysX card.

No big issues with SLI these days. Just keep your drivers updated.

Few things... Minimum fps and "smooth gameplay". I would go with GTX480 because those cost about as much.

Slightly off topic: You might reconsider that i7 950 in favour of the 930. A number of people have reported that some 950s are terrible at overclocking, while the 930s are usually great. There are a few threads on G3D about it as well
