I can .... for a while more as a matter of fact, for some reason I was expecting a slight bit more (sure it owns my card in crysis but it was all expected)

But anyways good value/competitive with ATI's highest end

But clearly isnt worth the upgrade for me

    Good review, Hilbert. Thanks!

Given the price you wonder why they didn't add a little more memory to the 295.

To me the only thing this card effects is the prices of the GTX280's and 260's. I wouldn't touch this thing with a 10 foot pole. DX11 comes out next summer with Windows 7 so you know nvidia is going to be shipping full supported DX11 cards by then. Most likely the top end GT300 single card will be just as fast as this thing.

And for people that say DX11 is backwards compatible with DX10, yes it is, but not tessellation and SM5.0. Tessellation is probably one of the larger reasons to get a DX11 card.

    Don't forget they're beta drivers :)
And I wouldn't expect someone with a 4870X2 to have to upgrade any time soon o_O

I did not expect someone who still has a 8800 GTX to this date to understand ;)

One question for Hilbert , did you update Fallout 3 with the HD pack before testing ?

This card running final optimized drivers gonna smash the 4870 x2. Competition is always good, but when physX games like Cryostasis and the upcoming EA titles get in the scene, itll be a no go to ATI high end cards.

I think I posted in the wrong thread so here it goes.

I like the results, but I didnt like to see dead space instead of stalker clear sky. Dead space runs over 100 fps in most recent cards anyway so I dont see the point. I guess it is some nvidia request. Good review !

But I have to say this, I dont like this card at all. This looks like a desperate attempt to compete with the X2, I mean it is 2 cards together like a sandvich. I think we deserve as customers better solutions, technology should not go this way. I would be really pissed if I see ati putting 2 X2 together, that would be sad.

Anyway that is my opinion, good luck everyone.

PS. Thales I really wanna see the sandvich smash the X2 with 8xAA.

It's not customary to run tests on games running with mods, at least I've never seen it here. I know you weren't asking me but I'm just saying I _highly_ doubt it.

Card looks nice by the way. It absolutely TRUMPS the 4870x2, too bad it took them so long (6 months?) to release it or you'd see a gtx295 in my specs...

Sure ... so right now it makes ABSOLUTELY no difference at best (at least at the resolution I play 1920x1200) been the two cards APART from crysis which we already knew doesn't like crossfire (and thus my 4870 x2) very well.

But as I was saying I was LOOKING to upgrade but I wont because the difference is insignificant! Am no fanboi of either, am here to have the best looking/playable game possible no matter the company!

You obviously didn't pay attention to the numbers or read the entire review. Quit trying to defend your measly X2. This card will open a can of whoop ass on that piece. ;)

Thats true, right now except if you want to play Cryostasis or run some physx demos there is nothing significant , the 4870x2 is a kick ass card running any game , no doubt.

    lol

Only Top 10 games were allowed to be tested for the preview, therefore no Stalker CS.

Regarding Fallout 3: none of the games are modded as that would skew the results and wouldn't be representative of off-the-shelf performance.

As for using two PCBs instead of two GPUs on one PCB, I doubt that could be done due to the die size. The card would be huge.
