That's Far Cry 2 there buddy. That whole link is about the Asus Mars, not even about FarCry. And hell, my computer could max out FarCry 2 at that resolution, easy.

And as I showed you, on the page after the one you linked for the first FarCry benchmarks, you can see the 5850 handily bending the GTX 260 over and spanking it in FarCry 2.

This thread is heading to nowhere. I think its time to close...I fear this thread will continue saying GTX 260 192-SP beats HD 5970 Xfire...

Im sure it can max it out but would it be playable? Im not even sure if my system would run FC2 maxed out at 3840 x 2160.

^ I guess but the OP's point is kinda moot, the OP was talking bout a GTX260 bein better than a 5850 because of the original far cry, then the posted a video of SLI'ed ASUS Mars on Far Cry 2 lol :3eyes:

Seriously? Two 5870s could easily do it.

Mine would be playable but not ideal. I was saying it to demonstrate a point.

Apparently not for some people, including the OP, and that's why.

mmmmm ATI will probably have next gen DX11 cards out by the Fermi gets released.

So the OP can just keep his 9600GT considering the resolution he uses.

The thing about the OP confusing Far Cry 1 with Far Cry 2 was funny, even more seeing that the review HAD a picture of Far Cry 1, even if you cant difference the quality, is a friggin island  FC2 is settled in central Africa, savvanah and all that.

    Well... In my book is: HD4870 512mb < GTX260 192sp < HD4870 1Gb < GTX260 216sp < HD4890 < GTX275 < HD5850 < GTX285 < HD5870

Or something like that. The performance of ATi cards depends a lot on the drivers. So over time ATi has moved far more close to the next nVidia card. Probably any recent review with lastest drivers shows a HD4890 outperforming GTX275 or a HD5850 surpassing a GTX285. But for ATi, all depends on the driver optimization in the game.

Reviews of any HD5000 series card at their respective launch dates are distant to what we see now.

the HD5850 is slightly faster than the GTX285, heck just read Guru3d's review and anybody can see that the HD5850 is clearly faster than the GTX260 and slightly better than the GTX285.

Why is this thread still alive? Someone please kill it. It's ridiculous and has no substance due to ridiculous claims from fanboys.
