The game has too many interframe dependencies which older SLI bridges can not provide sufficient bandwidth for.

Could you send me a game save for this spot from your PC to driverfeedback@nvidia.com? Also include screenshots of your in game graphics settings used.

Speaking of The Surge 2, is anyone experiencing crashes with any Vulkan games using the new driver? I see on Steam The Surge 2 users are reporting problems with the latest driver but I am wondering if any other Vulkan games are showing similar symptoms.

I don't have this game but looks like there were Vulkan crash issues before the driver came out.

I'm going to reply to a couple of people with the vulkan no device issue though.

Get a masters in a field covering software/hardware engineering before going around calling people a liar.

Wasn't this the reason given for the high bandwidth bridges, which in testing showed no benefit, and now we get told the same again. Any fix for the sli issue with hardware acceleration switched on for Edge and having YouTube open, and sli is disabled? This was reported using your feedback form on your official forums. Sli users have really been left out to dry.

It only happens with the new drivers using the same clocks. I also have to say that BFV tends to crash or freeze when OC unstability is present.

Not to be a dick, but SLi is dead. I wouldn't be happy about it either (I used to use it), but these days there is just no denying it.

Jeez dude, show a little respect. We're lucky enough that ManuelG even visits here outside of Nvidias forums to offer support and pass on issues directly to Nvidias driver team.

There was a large benefit with a HB bridge depending on what game you were playing, It really helped with stuttering.

doing some light research i found that sli and nvlink are not the same, sli is sli but nvlink is not sli, nvlink uses more banwith than sli even if you are using hbbridges, sorry but sli is dead.

    ALSO

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/design-visualization/nvlink-bridges/ (read the small text)

"Using NVLink to scale performance and memory capacity requires application-specific support."

If sli is dead, how come they are supporting it, but ONLY on turing gpu's? -_-

It's an artificial limitation only made to force people to upgrade, simple as that.

Did a clean install to 440.97

Forza 7 is hanging during the loading screen after backing out of a race. The load icon continues to spin and game audio is not interrupted but the load never completes. It's not occurring 100% of the time but more often than not. I was not seeing this with 436.51. I rolled back to 436.51 and cannot reproduce the problem despite many attempts.

    System:
    3900X
    X570 Aorus Ultra
    2080 Ti Aorus Xtreme
    2x16GB HyperX 3200
    Predator X27 running 4K + HDR

And how good do you think that SLi support is even on Turing? Whats the point of having a 2nd graphics card when every new title either doesn't support it or you're procreating around with drivers and SLi profiles... or I could just buy the next model up card that is single GPU and avoid the BS altogether. It's a clear decision. There's a reason why you never see SLi marketed anymore, or crossfire... it's crap.

Well if you had read the comments, you would know that my comment was in regards to the specific game The outer worlds... here turing gets sli support, pascal doesn't... and nvidia's excuse about lack of bandwidth without the nvlink interface is just all too convenient.

Yeah...now they just sell (or not in my case) one card for 3x what it should cost rather than trying to con us into buying 2.

Few things here, fully aware of the differences between the 2, the consumer version of nvLink that debuted with the RTX series is "dumbed" down to maintain compatibilty with current SLI methods/profiles. The link you posted is about the full blown implementation used in Quadro cards where the cards would perform as a single shared resource/display adapter. The only possible factor that would make sense is the low latency/high-bandwidth memory interface that is native to nvLink. (2GB/s vs 50/100GB/s)

Lastly, SLI isnt crap, SLI support is crap. It really is unfortunate.
