Any ideas what Power management mode - 0x00000005 (Optimal Power) actually does? Is that power saving?

It's back to the drawing board for the NVidia driver dudes, Battlefield 4 will not display properly with this driver screen disappears into blackout when you turn around and look to the rear or side, geometry is also a little wonky. Tried lots of things reinstalling, clean installs, driver sweeps. Ran a repair of the game. Nothing would fixit until went back to 365.19. Didn't test any other games, if it fails for BF4 I don't want it.

Played about with some of those, ended up with a BSOD, and then a BSOD every boot after that

Had to boot into safemode and reset everything

No point in installing any driver newer than 353.49 for Kepler and/or Fermi users. Since then, all game optimizations have been made for Maxwell and newer only.

Runs silky smooth so far, only played Doom 2016 for a couple of hours and Fallout 4 for about 15 mins without issues, great picture so far a keeper.

I don't know how but I feel like fast sync is enabled even though it's not enabled in nvidia profile inspector
I mean I had really bad tearing in Wolfenstein The Old Blood and Rage
both games vsync disabled, now there is no any tearing!
It could be placebo effect xD

Great driver but a bit disappointed with fastsync. I was hoping it was going to be more like Gsync for everyone and that's not the case. If your games running above 60fps tho it's fantastically smooth.

    Hello,

So i did Fast-Sync in the Nvidia Inspector with 0x18888888
but it doesn't work in Doom, still get lots of tearing.

And what is the SILK Smoothness feature please, can find anything about that unfortunately?

What are your settings in fifa because for me when i set fast sync, animation gets choppy in fullscreen. In cutscenes with fsync i got 60fps all the time but in normal gamplay it goes to 119fps and stays there. My monitor is 60hz btw.

Zomg Maxwell is starting to get gimped!... I rolled back to 364.51 and Loeb Rally is running smoothly again*!, latest couple of drivers is a stuttery mess in the longest tracks.

*As long as one doesn´t restart races but it was always like that.

Just tested this new fast sync in FEAR Combat MP, DSR'd rest max and it works.

But its like so, 60, ~80-90, and quick jump to 120fps - mostly this with occasional 144 or 169fps spike, menu is capped at ~ 240fps.

But the transitioning by 60-120 is not so smooth, and sometimes it had small micro deviations 121 or 120.78fps and this made them mini jitter/stutters as well..

Will try again with SILK at 2 (was 0 before).

EDIT: ok this SILK doesn't affect it or 1 - 2 frames to render ahead..
Its a interesting feature, but still not quite ready yet.

When you DDU, make sure you clean for AMD AND INTEL while in safe mode.

I had SERIOUS issues with BF4 after switching GPUs and DDU didn't fix them until I cleaned the "unused" AMD driver out that was apparently conflicting with the Nvidia one.

Should this not succeed, I'd recommend deleting your BF4 settings, running CCleaner portable with CCEnhancer. Then as a final measure use Device Remover to remove all duplicate and detached devices and their drivers/entries/files.

MAKE SURE you select "detached and duplicate devices" in the drop down. Before hitting select all and delete. If you're smart you'll figure it out without more instructions than that or needing to backup anything. (Note: It will detect your printer as a detached device if it is asleep).

It's easy if you just read.

Driver installed and performed just fine. BF4 works the same as previous whql. Tested with 970, 760, 560Ti and 540m.

Enabling Fast-Sync in Nvidia Inspector with 0x18888888 results in me getting a BSOD for the Nvidia kernel at boot and restart, requiring me to DDU from safe mode then reinstall the driver.

Ansel and silk smoothness settings haven't caused any issues for me so far.

NOTE: I do have g-sync enabled. That might be the reason for the BSOD. NVCP also says "Custom" instead of Fast Sync. If you try to change it the option "Custom" goes away and you're left with the usual "Yes, No, Let the application decide."

EDIT: Root cause was probably something else. Ignore.
