I think I'll revert back to 390.77 soon, FFXV doesn't play anything different, same goes for benchmark.

No real problems with VLC 3.0 and gpu hw, only if I FF then I can see squarish coruputed image for a second.

EDIT: Doom vulkan @ 144hz and adaptive vsync runs very smooth now, used extra rtss 144fps limit on top and its like openGL, no more animation explosions lags or jitter. idk about 390.77, didn't play it in a while.

Is everyone having problems with MPC using Windows 10 1709, AKA the Fall Creators Update? Has anyone with 1703 tested it?

I just switched to VLC and it works great. However, you need 3.0.1 to get the fix for a silent crash on exit 3.0 always does.

Another related anomaly I just noticed was in Edge, initially loading a channel to watch on the Xfinity Stream site (which uses Flash) caused mouse movement locks for a few seconds until the channel starts displaying.

Shees 6 pages of people reporting issues....has anyone even seen any performance improvements in the past 5 or so drivers? I don't know why anyone would even bother using anything past 388.84.

Not always true. Rise of the tomb raider and mankind divided both are much smoother on dx12.

Well, there's that report earlier in the thread about PUBG getting an extra 7% from this but... Me personally, I'm getting REALLY tired of using DDU to roll back to the 387 series drivers (388.84 specifically)

I am lucky to not have problems with any NV drivers, and this one improved COD: WWII (removed flashing antialiasing artefacts).

I went back to 390.77 because I felt no noticeable difference in gaming and quite annoyed by the mini-delay when opening movie files as I watch and browse my collections often. I'm using MPC-HC version 1.7.14.4.

When you're talking about 166 vs 168, I wouldn't call 2 fps massive, thats a mere ~1.5%, not to mention that nearly all other benches actually improved.

There is a massive 3 fps gain in the combined test, thats 5%!

CPU is higher clocked that's the reason for the combined.
    The 1080ti is the @ same 2,228 MHz/ 1,571 MHz
2.8fps is huge difference 30-50Mhz...I don't see a reason the newer driver to have performance degradation in this test...

2228 is really high, while it might run at that speed alright, it might not be fastest rendering at that speed.
Try lower to make sure it goes down, not up.

Well thats nice lol, After years on AMD with seemingly ZERO game killing driver issues, the second set of NVIDIA drivers cause loss in everything except pubg

    lol just lol

20fps less in world of warplanes, same in kingdom come deliverance
FIFA also doesnt feel so smooth even though its doing a constant 144fps

390.77 however feel fine, i havnt tried any other drivers as only had the card a week nearly

You should try the vukan beta drivers (388.84). Best drivers to date and much better than 390.77. Remember to use ddu in between installations.

    You never benchmarked, right ?
I said my point this difference reflects in 30-50Mhz higher clock speeds to match it otherwise said almost matching stock vs OCed models of some brands. Cant see the point to loose 500-600 GPU points(with even higher clocked CPU 5580vs5630 ) in Firestrike just from driver update...never happened before..loosing 50-100 yes or in a margin of error but this is huge.
Can someone else run FS with the same clock speeds 390.77 vs 391.01 just for the comparison please, may be OS updates or Meltdown/Spectre patches are in the meanwhile getting on my PC even restricted them previously...

Stuttering in WWE 2k18 while connected to TV in the latest 3 drivers including this.
    I'll stick with 388.84

Horrible stuttering in Netflix and in VLC when Netflix is open in the background.

Back to 390.77 for the HTPC.
