I bought a laptop with an NVIDIA card because of the Unified Driver Architecture only to discover that the thing doesn't apply to laptops. What the...!!!! :bang: All right, I said to myself, I'll Google for them... But there's no such thing as "latest GeForce 6200 driver" anywhere on the internet. (I also tried "NV44M driver" and all the combinations you can imagine.) I'm having a nightmare finding the right drivers. I bought my laptop from a noname manufacturer and they have the wrong driver for download. I've been looking for drivers here at Guru3D but the download section doesn't say a word about what's the latest driver compatible with the GeForce Go 6200 (the one I have). Moreover, I have downloaded drivers 77.70 (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1115) and 79.11 (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1231#download) and I simply can't install them. The only one that will work is the one that came with my laptop drivers CD. It's version 77.50 and is dated May 2005. I can't believe this driver hasn't been updated for that long. Can anyone help me with this please?
No need to lose hope ;-) I also have an GO 6200. And at the moment I am using the latest, 83.90, driver. All Drivers i tested didnt see the go6200. So i had to mod them (actualy i just copy and pasted^^) Follow these Instructions: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=171843 Mod the driver you want. I choosed the 83.90 because i had problems in battlefield with 83.50. And the 83.90 works great on bf2. Right now i am thinking about to make the new beta drivers, 87.15 (which is only for vista), to mod them so that i can run it on winxp. (If thats even possible cause i have no ideas what I am doing^^) Greez Mahneraki
Simply go to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=93 and pick the latest driver for your OS version. Then download the driver and the modded inf. Now decompress the driver and put the modded inf file into the decompressed driver's folder. Use the setup.exe in that folder. Done.
