    <-- starts to ponder.....

didnt the head of ATI/AMD drivers reciently move to nvidia?...
if so..that might explain a) the new ATI/AMD installer rip-off b) the fixing of bugs while causing more problems, has started to appear lately.....

    *scratches head*

Clean install? What's that? We don't need to remove previous drivers and use Driver Sweeper anymore?

same here..had some probs setting up my second display, but after 30 min. it worked. with custom hz and resolution, but i have no clue how i did it..

also videos dont seem as good as before, when theres a lot black in the movie its pixelized somehow, cant fix that..i think quality of videos was better before..strange thing is, these pixels in black pictures only happen on the second monitor(hdtv) not on my first main monitor CRT...

    didnt try opencl yet...

edit..jup OpenCl is broken, just had my first crash and needed to reboot the PC manualy by Power button lol..
i tried this thing from geeks3d..Gpu Caps Viewer...
could someone try it too and tell me if its nor working so i can be shure its the driver?

Same problem with surround but after a few attempts it works fine. Only game I have checked (and play ATM) BC2 is the same. I had no stuttering but was looking for more gpu use and that has not changed sadly.

    Thanks for the post though.

OpenCL is ok here, at least according to gpu-z

and i did dynamic tiling test with Heaven 2.0 (1024x768, dx11 mode, no aa, 4xaf) and in nvcp for heaven profile: 4 - frames to render ahead, multi threaded optimization on and triple buffer on.

    off: min 36.3|avg 64.9|max 154.6
    safe: min 36.5|avg 64.9|max 154.2
    unsafe: min 36.7|avg 64.9|max 154.5
    nvrec.: min 36.8|avg 64.9|max 154.4

    or with ms 259.47
    min 37.1|avg 65.3|max 155.8

not much of a difference though, best to use nvidia recommended., although the funny thing is that every time i close nvcp it goes to custom after i open it again. Other than that they seem stable.. im gonna go test some games now and report back :nerd:

edit: yea its broken here too with that geeks3d GPU caps viewer

Done some gaming now with these drivers. The performance seems ok(Mafia 2, L4D 2, BC 2, ME 2, Dirt 2 and Fallout 3). However I have found a bug in the control panel under "adjust desktop color settings". I can't turn the contrast slider higher than 50 %. If I do the screen turns out in a lot of weird different colors.

Think I'll go back to the 258.96 drivers.

It removed the old driver & installed the new driver after the PC rebooted. Didn't require a boot into safe mode to avoid Windows 7 from auto installing it's own driver. I didn't run Driver Sweeper after it uninstalled the drivers to check if there was anything left to remove.

i noticed with this driver i cant set 60 hz anymore even tough this did't work anyway this still avaible thru microsoft screen config thingy altough it does't work their.

now if i could't select it anywhere cous it aint their anywhere then hooray.....
but thats not the case so looks like i still have to force 59.994 hz.

cous otherwise games that blindly still try 60 hz will freeze my comp for few sec when i launch a game which is insanely anoying........

anyway testing how these drivers perform in starcraft 2 hoping for fps boost with AA and without.
