    What's wrong with these idiotic programmers at Nvidia? I don't understand them. Can't they even get this driver right? They fix one thing and fck up another thing. The stupid driver stutter/freezes during games. This driver keep screwing around with DV. This stupid driver doesn't recognize my LCD. I have to manually go in and set it to 1920x1200. This happen to a second reboot when I had it at 1920x1200 but after the reboot, it went to 640x480.

    Yep, I did the same and have no problems with the driver except....... the DV problem:)

    Maybe if you don't touch DV, there's no problem but I set it to 15 and after every reboot it's 100:(

    Oh yeah, and in "Manage 3d settings" \ "Program Settings" no programs were found.

    Profiles do seem to work fine but that may be because I use nHancer:)

    Just installed 177.98's for XP 32-bit

    Ran a F.E.A.R Benchmark

    -177.92
    Min: 67
    Avg: 152
    Max: 472

    -177.98
    Min: 67
    Avg: 152
    Max: 482

    +10FPS in Max section, nothing usefull.

    I don't have the DV problem at all and I've done about 5 or 6 reboots since installing 177.98. My DV setting remains at 30% where I've set it. I did not clean install the drivers, they were installed over top of 177.92. Did you guys with the DV issues do a clean install of the drivers? Try installing them over 177.92 and see if DV works. DV isn't broken for me.

    Not working for me. Still got the same dv problem.

    You mean no x64 version or x64 version is not good at all?

    I did a clean install for my .92's. I'm hesitant to go back to them after spending all day fixing this damn Vista install, but I will give your suggestion a go and let you know if it works.....

    Easy some games suffer a downclock bug to 2d clocks. It randomly happens in game etc. It's VERY easy to improve NEW hardware....

    Sorry but I had a big lol at your reply.
    177.98 is a beta driver that isn't even up at nVidia's own site.

    PS. I use 177.92 and DV is fully functional both with SLI and without on my system.
    Tested it on both a Windows XP 32 and 64 bit system with 8800GTS and 8800GT, both got working DV.

    Can be fixed with Riva Tuner.

    tried these over the 177.92 , Vista Desktop runs better more responsive..snappier.
    Red Alert 3 Beta feels better if not the same..

    Sure. I can really imagine the poor guy noticing slowdowns in WoW with a GTX280. It is well known you need at least two or three of them in SLI to have a chance of running it smoothly.... :eyes:

    Anyhow, as to 2D performance, I'd have thought RivaTuner would resolve it.

    This never use to happen to me but I have to say , RivaTuner tends to degrade performance lately..
    Oddly , it does that with 1 out of 3 drivers..atleast on my system..

    DV screwed for me aswell, first time ever with any driver I recall.

    Only settings avalible are 33% 66% or 100%.
    However on reboot or refreshing display driver it sets itself to 100%.

    So this driver is getting canned for me

    2nd reboot, 100% dv but its not stuck, can adjust it back to whatever value i want. once I figure out the conversion for the hex / binary values in the color scheme in the registry, ill post the formula and location so DV can be manually set through regedit.

    If anybody is interested.]

    HKEY_USERS\{YOUR_LONG_SECURITY_ID}\Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak\Devices\{PCI_ID_FOR_GPU}\Color\Schemes\Applied\DEVICE{xxxxxxxxx}

    YOUR_LONG_SECURITY_ID is the SID for your username. Itll probably end with 1000 if you are main user.
    PCI_ID_FOR_GPU is the id string, ie VEN_10DE&DEV_05E1&SUBSYS_240010DE&REV_00&INST00

    DEVICE{xxxxxxxx} is something like DEVICE000000010, its the Monitors Device ID + Bus number I believe. You can check in device manager.
    {
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-297135772-3971335485-1545840751-1000\Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak\Devices\VEN_10DE&DEV_05E1&SUBSYS_240010DE&REV_00&INST00\Color\Schemes\Applied\DEVICE00020000_R0
    }

    THats my location for example.

    The hex string current value, store the Digital Vibrance registry entry in a 16bit value.

    at 0x00000009 -> 0x0000000a.

    00000000 21 43 4c 52 14 00 00 00 - '34 59'' 0f 00 00 00 00 00 !CLR....4Y......

    the 0x5934 holds inside of the DV percentage. I havent quite worked out the algorithm to flow freely and replicate NVCPanel adjustments, it's strange to say the least. I'll keep playing with it tonight.

    0x00000020 -> 0x000000023 (32bit integer) holds the timestamp the last change was made to the color scheme via NVCPanel.

    00000020  96 50 c6 48  2e 47 55 49 - 04 00 00 00 08 00 00 00 .PÆH.GUI........

    0x48c65096 -> c/unix timestamp seconds since epoch 1970.

    0x48c65096 => dec == 1220956310 which should be roughly 09092008 20:31:50

    This is sall i've figured out so far!
