Sadly, the problem is still here with .77.

Looks like shadows to me, not textures.

Yeah, their proprietary library for full screen capture. I think I saw once that it was preventing the system shutdown and this was when I had the hitches too.

It's a part of the core drivers, doesn't matter if you install GFE or not even though GFE does use it too.

Me and another guy had the issue with NVFBC, even when not installing Geforce experience. Long hangs when shutting down.

Rolled back to the 388.84's and have not had the issue since.

Please let me know if this driver fix's this for you?

    Thank you.

    Two words: who cares
Sorry I had to. I'll update my drivers as soon as it actually gets used by hackers. So far not one hacker is using it that I'm aware of. In the meantime I'm not gonna miss out on performance over it.

Never thought I'd see 45 on the Guru3D forums.

better to have and not need it then need it and not have it, and pay the price. the whole idea of saying spectre or meltdown is nothing to worry at this point, When every hacker and want be hacker will now be looking to exploit it and the people that havent been patched. is just asking for trouble.

To each there own i guess.

again, its not a fix if the prevention for a broken finger is to cut off both your arms.

Provide a fix that has no performance impact and then I'll consider it

I agree although it's quickly moving from hilarious to just plane annoying. Constantly hearing about it and having articles on it all over guru3d. It was funny when the media said we could have up to 30% performance loss and people immediately interpreted it as we will have a 30% performance loss.

Not when there is performance loss. Granted it might only be a few fps but if I can prevent that fps loss with using a certain driver, I will use it. I need all the fps I can get at 4k. I'm going to stick to the best performing driver until this actually becomes an issue. As soon as the first PC's get infected, I will update immediately. I'm not going to lose performance over the 2% chance that my PC is going to be the first infected. It's far more likely I will hear about it first before actually getting infected.

Has anyone tried these and compared them to the vulkan driver? I'm unable to test them now.

Gambling is a perfectly legitimate reason to stay on <390. If you are comfortable with gambling all your personal info, banking details, etc, and that of all your friends, go for it, you do you. Lots of people just turn off windows updates entirely and leave themselves vulnerable to pretty much everything, and get away with it. And like you say, your odds are pretty good.

AQUILES just said he didn't see any reason to patch, so I gave him one.

I ain't trying to tell you what to do with your PC. It's kinda ironic that so many of you are complaining about a 'storm in a teacup' about these vulns, and making a storm in a teacup about them being mentioned as briefly as possible.....

Can we get back to talking about the driver now? The stuttering since 390, the guys who have settings reset on reboot, etc?

I gave these drivers a try briefly. API overhead tests are on par with the Vulkan beta and performance seems to be as well. I didn't notice any settings getting reset on reboot. I remain on rgb full color even after rebooting and everything else is the same. I'm using win 10 1607 and outputting via hdmi if that helps. I did however notice the flickering shadows on COD WWII. Rise of the tomb raider dx12 artifacts from the previous 390 are gone with this driver as well. So in conclusion I would say these drivers are worth giving a shot to anyone on the Vulkan beta if you don't play COD WWII.

Yeah HDMI color settings seem to be holding for my 1070 too. Win 10 1607.

I've had inferior performance for Gsync in windowed mode / borderless window since I've got a Gsync screen tbh. Every game I tried was crap. That's why I'm never using it... and why I'll cry tears when they at some point will kill off exclusive full screen mode.

Will give these a try today since I skipped .65
