How compatible is Geforce6800 Ultra (PCI-E)@Quadro with CAD/3D (Maya, ZBrush, Revit)?

    Hello there,
I'm about to upgrade my machine and just read in one of the other threads that a softmodded 6800 Ultra is faster than a 8800 in OGL. This would be perfect, as I'm student who's on a budget and I need good performance in Maya and apps like ZBrush.
I read that a modded 6800 Ultra PCI-E would still be recognized by the system as a Geforce, but that the driver can be cheatet on. The most important question for me is now if I can expect any compatibility issues with the software I'm using. Are there any problems I should be aware of?

    Thanks for your help!
