i think, that unlocking the pipes is generaly possible. the question is.. how to. it is almost the same as the 6600 with the same chip and the same ram. when you use an earlier version of rivatuner, you´ll see all options including nvstrap etc. if you unlock the missing 4 pipes, everything wil be fine... until the windows screen appears. from this moment on the screen stays black:( perhaps we could flash the card with a 6600 bios,´but it don´t know if this helps. there must be an onother way..

Well, for some reason the lastest version of RivaTuner don't like the drivers I'm using (71.25) and earlier drivers won't work on this card. So I guess I'll have to wait for the next Rivatuner update.

    Lazybone!!!!!
Why do you post to the thread without even reading its' topic? The very first posting in it contains your question. The very first reply contains the answer.

Thanks for the info Unwinder. I went back and checked your first post and just like you said the answer was right there. :)

As a result I have sucessfully unlocked the other 4 pipes and got a nice perfomance increase.

    3dmark03 - 5191 up from 4111
    3dmark05 - 2185 up from 1695

    mx cfg contains:

    NV43 = 140h-14Fh,F1h-F2h,F3h-F4h

i masked it, but state is still "disabled"

I think that if the pipeline is seriously damaged it is not possible to turn it on at all.

I have the same issue with my 6200 and Rivatuner cannot enable the pipes. Always, after a reboot, it shows the the setup at 4x1 even though the other quad is enabled.

At first I thought this might be an issue with drivers. I have tried 71.25, 71.40, 71.80, 71.84 and 75.90. None have any impact.

I then took the drastic action of flashing a Leadtek 6600 bios onto my XpertVision 6200 last night. This still did not unlock the disabled pipes.

My last test will be to try getting hold of a Leadtek 6200 bios and see what happens. I don't hold much faith though.

In the plus side, the memory of my card overclocks to 675mhz using the standard Nvidia overclocking tool.

Heya, I've got an Aopen 6200 AGP (256MB).

I tried using RT (15.4) to unlock pipes, fiddled with the .cfg and tried the command line with the switches. Still a no go here (pipes are still at 4x1) ... I'm assuming my card is hardwired. :(

btw, forceware drivers used are 71.80

the difference is, the "disabled" at "state".
    the pipes are locked somehow

I Bought a Sparkle 6200 agp 128MB (nv43) last weekend and unlocked the pipelines without any problems and it works great!!

128-bit NV43 (A2,8x1,3vp) with 128MB DDR are the current specs according to RT.

btw.: I'm using Forceware version 71.25 and didn't edit any .cfg files.

Just got a pretty nice score in 3dmark05. 2504.

Not to shabby for a lowend system.
