    Have you tried 460.89?Seems good too dpc latency wise.Played Apex/w twitch in the background.I did this test 3 times for a total of 90[ish minutes.Same 3080/9900k.
    466.11 and drivers around it are not good.

    Have you ever tried to disable HAGS and watch your latencies again?
    On my Machine (9900K P0 with GB 3080 Gaming OC) I can see DPC spikes up to 20xx µs as long as I enable HAGS. First monitoring session without HAGS gives me a max 641.xx µs so far (on 466.47)

    But I need to monitor this longer. But it could be a reason. So it might be worth to have a look after this.

    Will try 460.89 too today.

    No HAGS enabled, tried with EIST disabled etc so cpu at full speed all the same.
    While no EIST improves real time latency by 50-100, it still kicks over 1500 on nvidia driver.

    Here's the stats after a 10 min browsing/youtube session, this time the nvidia driver had the highest execution (0.788280 ms) that coincided with launching a youtube video, rest of the drivers are sub 0.400 ms. With also measure during some online fifa later.

    I noticed an inconsistency though.

    Obviously all the tests were done soon after system started (installed driver)
    Now after about 30 min of usage I get a max of 600 with latest driver.

    I wonder if there isn't something else that affects the driver.

    During online Fifa highest execution time of the nvidia driver was 1.213160 ms, apparently there were 5 of those instances and 6 between 0.500-1.000 ms. Rest of the drivers were ~0.300 ms or less.

    OK this is weird AF!

    It looks like if I use nvidia color settings AND 10bit nvlddmkm only spikes up to 600.

    Use system default color settings or even nvidia 8bit and goes up to 1500.

    Tested with google chrome/youtube, hardware acceleration enabled and no color profile custom flags (default).
    Tested with WOW Shadowlands.
    Windows calibration disabled, no profile used.

    WTH ?

    Ya man I tested that like I said, I had HAGS disabled since forever and tested with CPU at full speed.
    No difference.

    Edit:

    Tested 460.89
    Same behavior as 45x as in no bit depth bug.
    About 600 latency regardless of bit depth so it works fine.

    What do you think of color depth latency bug I found?

    If I use default settings (8bit) nvlddmkm goes up to 1500.
    If I choose/use 10bit it only goes up to 600.

    Could it be because of new color conversion they introduced?
    It kind of matches because they added that in 460.xx and thats when latency started to go to the roof.

    Made another test, found that setting the card power management to max performance instead of default/adaptive reduces that spike quite significantly.

    However, the default/8bit problem vs 10bit is still there, at least in my case.

    Only made a quick chrome+youtube 4k test, enough to trigger the spike in both cases.

    This is what I've been getting ever since getting a 3070 FE on launch (8 bit colour). EIST is off and High Performance power setting is on. Only app that is running is Edge playing a video on Twitch.

    I can confirm that setting to 10 bpc for the desktop reduces the nvidia driver execution time spikes. After a game of fifa now highest was 0.40830 ms.

    Well at least it's worth investigating.
    Nvidia has a point to start now, could be related to those color space conversions they introduced in 46x drivers.

    If you have a 10bit panel (even 8+2frc) you might want to select 120Hz first as many panels are limited to that in10bit due to DisplayPort 1.2
    Newer have DP 1.4 that can do 165Hz 10bit.

    Mine is a 8+2 FRC without HDR and only DP 1.2
    However I managed to tweak it and add a custom resolution 144Hz 10bit which has enough bandwidth to run on DP 1.2.

    the default accurate and enhanced(when a slider is moved) setting is behaving as all drivers previously did though, the main difference is they exposed a GUI setting to enforce Reference colourmetrics without using DCT.

    Interesting find though, and would seem only relevant to displays capable of 10bit, but running less than.

    It is odd.
    Considering most 1-2 years old gaming IPS and VA panels are 10bit (8+2) then it could apply to a considerable amount of users.
    Not to mention all HDR panels.
