Ok people, I have installed this over 451.85 (upgraded not clean installed) & HZD is working perfectly fine, no issues with shader compilation (yes it did recompile the shaders on launch after updating gpu driver without issue), no failing to launch, no frame drops, no stuttering, locked 60fps 2560x1440 (full screen & borderless).

Just tested night mode & it does exactly what it's supposed to do.

FYI @Party Poison : Dishonored 2 runs just peachy for me...

Will proceed to test all my other current playlist games (all the latest AAA & lesser releases).

My system specs are : i7 5930k, 32gb ddr4 corsair, EVGA 1080ti sc2, 1tb samsung ssd (HZD installed on it), PSU corsair CX750 watt, LC AIO for both GPU & CPU. system CPU OC 4.5ghz, gpu core OC 2033mhz, vram OC +500mhz offset, system ram xmp 2667mhz.

    I'll report anything that fails...

It's some module needed for MSI afterburner. I tried to install the drivers without it and afterburner will grey out the power limit slider and act funky in general.

Interesting, I installed the driver without it and I still can use power limit and afterburner is reporting correct FPS, temperature, GPU usage etc.

yep because horizons problems aren't related to nvidia. its the devs who REALLY ****** up and release one of the worst ports in history :( we will have to wait till the devs fix this trash port, hopefully soon as i want to play the game. i'Ve seen people run horizon at high settings wiht 60fps on a gtx 1060 whilst i am on an overclocked 980ti, same performance as the gtx 1070 stock which should be around 25-30% faster than the 1060 and yet i run horizon at 35-50fps on MEDIUM preset on 1080p. thats so pathetic and disappointing :(

damn, that sucks. wanted to install this driver too. i'm on 451.87 so far and whilst its running well i hoped for my HZD performance to be fixed as i have around 40-50% lower performance than i should have with my system on my settings according to benchmarks and youtube vids from people... but if crap like that happens i will rather wait and see :(

Always disable your Network Adapter when installing a new driver.

Is there an issue that is specific to NVIDIA GPUs with this game?

Happens sometimes. Nothing we can do about it :(

Just proceed to reinstall the latest driver and you should be good.

I tried a couple of games where sharpening was broken, used app profile sharpening.
It looks like hotfix behavior was reverted and sharpening has been fixed, at least in a couple of games that I tried, but there's a new minor issue: sharpening effect is not visible on GFE screenshots in certain games (but visible on Shadowplay recordings) / GFE 3.20.4.14
For example sharpening in Witcher 3 did not work when enabled in app profile and only worked with global profile, now it works when enabled in-app without global profile. Effect is visible on GFE screenshots.
Tales of Berseria, VTM Bloodlines (2004); sharpening did not work at all from 445+ drivers but works now. Effect isn't visible on GFE screenshots (was fine on old drivers) but visible on Shadowplay recordings. ShareX appears to be able to capture fullscreen in-game screenshots so I tried that and sharpening effect is visible on screenshots taken with ShareX.

So in case anyone else had issues with sharpening, try testing these drivers.

I remember having huge stuttering problems with that game but in the end I managed to user specific settings which made the experience smooth (G-sync worked) so that I could finally beat the game. Wish I remember exactly what settings I used...

But did you have frame drops or stuttering before installing this driver? I've read several people saying they don't have any stutter which is confusing since I thought everyone had the same problem.

I get some stutter when there is a quest objective update and also rarely when running around in the wild, but that's pretty much it. 95% of game play is stutter free and that's pretty good. Performance may not be optimal but it's better now when I run the game on my 3440x1440 screen than when I was playing on my 4K TV trying to achieve a locked 60fps.

Yes, you can, as others mentioned, just unplug the internet cable. Windows usually downloads and stores in windows-softwaredistribution-download folder a standard driver. Go there and if you see a large file over 450mb is Nvidia's driver. Delete it from there, too. There you can delete everything actually especially if you don't plan going back windows versions. Wasted space.
