GeForce 411.63 WHQL drivers Download & Discussion

I have this annoying flickering shortly after booting into Windows and when switching off secondary monitors with this set. Might be related to G-Sync.

 

Weird frameskipping on my end in Monster Hunter World with those drivers and a GTX 1080
Used DDU+fresh install

 

The improvement was found 9 days ago and then implemented with this driver.

By benchmark I was referring to those who saw a 1 fps a drop and thought bad drivers.

 

I've had this driver installed for a few days now and for games it is working fine so far with no issues to report.

However, I tried to watch a DVD earlier from Soft Cell's Keychains & Snowstorms box set and it was skipping and pausing and clearly not working properly with Windows 10's own Windows DVD player app. The G-SYNC indicator was flashing on and off in the top corner throughout causing, what appeared to be, the video speeding up and slowing down!!!

So I disabled G-SYNC in the control panel and the DVD played perfectly, proving that the issue wasn't the app, the DVD or the BD player I was using to watch the disc.

What is strange is that there is a profile for the Windows DVD player in the NVIDIA control panel (it uses the incorrect application though as it should be DvdPlayer.ui.exe which I added manually using NVIDIA Inspector). The G-SYNC setting is not available though and is greyed out so I checked with NVIDIA Inspector and it shows that G-SYNC is forced off.

So if G-SYNC is forced off in this profile then why is the G-SYNC indicator showing in the Windows DVD Player window? Is this a bug or do I have to set G-SYNC to fullscreen only rather than the fullscreen + windowed mode I'm currently using?

 

No difference, actually I had to disable spectre to get a bigger picture, Hitman absolution would otherwise lose 4-6fps by min fps.. very CPU api bound game.

Now the bad part, nvcontainer hang is still happening- DSR..

Ok only when I first set it and forget it and by reboot.. Next time is ok, but still. Thought its going to be completely fixed by now.

 

DSR fine for me, no change here but the cpl feels much more responsive now, i dunno, but we've been there

 

This driver is messing with my color settings.
Looks like it keeps changing my rgb setting back to "full", even though the driver setting still shows "limited".
I instantly noticed the crushed blacklevel and oversaturated colors in AC origins and R6. Sometimes it's fine ingame but then i get crushed blacks when i go back to the desktop.
Doesn't matter if i use "standard" or "custom" in the control panel.
This keeps happening even if i choose ycbcr444 or ycbcr422
Rolled back to 399.24 and everything is fine again...

 

this driver is bad, bad colors bad fps HOTS feel horrible FORTNITE horrible colors and mores games same, back to vulkan 399.17 the best driver now high fps and stable

 

Talking about colours, I found an issue that's likely W10/app related.

Take any picture with lots of white, now compare that picture between "Windows Photo Viewer" and W10 "Photos" app.

 

works good so far on Windows 7 with an gtx670..
also, dunno what changed but WRECKFEST runs better now for me..i dont have those wierd frame drops anymore when waiting for the round to start..

didnt test any more games yet.

MadVR also has no problems so far, everything is stable and runs fine..(mind, im talking about win 7)

madVR FSE mode still not working with this driver.

 

hey thanks for the great explanation !! i'm really looking forward and will try out the new driver with MHW in the coming days or maybe even today if i get the time hope it runs the game better, i wouldn't mind getting my cpu hammered a bit more and my gpu less. would definitely benefit the performance

 

These drivers suck. Especially for a big new shiny 400 series of drivers. Same as the 300. I'll wait for the hotfix.

 

Driver running Witcher 3 @ 4K Ultra, HW low very smooth.Finally got my Firestrike Gpu Score up to 21014 woop woop!!

 

no, you only need to remove 0x0094C537 and 0x0094C538

the others have no affect on performance.


On another issue,

If you have an intel 100/200/300 chipset, do not install the 16.7 IRST driver, stick with 16.5 or you will boot loop.

 

Anyone tested Fire Strike on 3dmark compared to previous driver?.
I personally lost 40 points.

 

I'm having an issue with my DVI monitor. Obviously connected via the included dongle from nvidia - I'm not getting the monitor's native resolution (2560x1440@60Hz) - it's only offering me 1080p.
Creating a custom resolution for 2560x1440@60Hz, the screen is blurry.
Custom resolution for 2560x1440@96Hz(what I used to run before my gpu and driver upgrade) doesn't even work at all.

 

That's nothing , I usually get ~200points variance driver to driver 19900 or 20200 by GPU score.. that's 0.5fps difference

 

These are smooth, but lost ~ 20 fps in ESO.

In city I was always showing 100 fps sometimes dropping to 80 or 90 fps. Now about 80 fps dropping to 60 or 70 fps at times.

Tried ddu, cleaned and installed the clean driver version also, still the same.

For my rig anyway, not so good.
