3DMark clock detection has nothing to do with how your card is actually clocking.

    @bigfutus

Which 3 drivers are you comparing with this test?

    Thank you.

NVM, didn't know I could open it up and see which driver was used. I'm an idiot.

I know this doesn't 'fix' your issue. But, running this driver and 17134.48 does work. I'm running it using DX12 @ 4K pretty much every video setting maxed. Do you have other similar entries in the error log?

Interesting i tought the sttuters where because my old cpu was bottlenecking my 1080, but i guess maybe is not after reading this but the only games with sutters for me are final fantasy xv and ghost recond wildlands, others i'm playing now like wolfenstein II, dota2, overwatch, far cry 5, etc are working flawlessly

    Its absolution, the older game.

It works here though, tested at 17134.5 & various 397.xx drivers, at least the benchmark.. will see again now with this driver.

Edit: Benchmark and the game work fine here.. Dunno Darren, try to re-verify the game.

    Hi
Which driver are you using that doesn't have micro stuttering in games? I get stuttering too and have mentioned it in a few of these driver threads before. Would love to finally fix it even if it means reverting to an old branch.
    Thanks

Is that uxdservice message at shutdown fixed? Does that GDI bug affect 391.35?

Idk, but I just got that nvcontainer 0085 something, shutdown again. It was right after I installed this driver, I also had winamp open. Guess that was the cause of the container?

Haven't seen it yet during three or so restarts I've made.

  11. Odd... Quiting the installer deletes the installation files saved in C:\NVIDIA.

I played a few hours of PoE2 last night and had a few hitches at the start of combat, but other than that performance was stellar at 1080p. Performance at 4K DSR was not too bad either. I'll give it a try in a bit again with this new driver set.

I have to say this release feels ok from an overall perspective. No udx service annoyance (till now :) ) and everything is performing well. I'll keep them for now.. I'll report back if anything weird comes up!

Successful install results in the same, and this change is a) documented in the release notes for R396 b) long overdue (I personally have ran into several cases of people thinking that they need a new SSD just because there were a couple dozens of NV drivers unpacked lying aimlessly on the old one, consuming some 10-20 GBs for very much nothing).

Win10 Pro 64bit 17134.48 - Poor performance in Gears of War Ultimate

    It's been quite a few months since I last played this game, so, I can't say which build started this problem. I refer to this video where performance looks "correct";

Note: I currently have this game running on a 4TB spindle drive. With exactly the same settings as in that video, I'm getting a lot worse performance, with outside areas dipping into the 40-50fps, the same for tight corridors and small indoor areas. The fps doesn't seem stable and I've even seen fps drop to 15fps at one point in the game, not long after using the hammer of dawn 2nd to 3rd time in the first level of the game like in the video. My fps is around 1/2 or even less than the video and I never see it go into the 200fps. Most battles look stuttery. It just doesn't seem to be performing right.

Can anyone confirm the same experience? Cheers.

p.s. I've uninstalled and re-installed GOW to check performance, it's the same, prior to posting.

Using DDu for unninstall previous driver (in secure mode) and rolling back to 382.05 (the best driver for me)
Poor performance on EFT almost 10fps less than 382.05

generic access violation issue, so a list of the modules loaded by the process would help since its going to come down to one of them not playing nice with 1803/397. My bet is on anything touching DXGI, like rtss overlays or reshade.

I've had to debug this in a DX wrapper before, games can do some really nasty stuff with dllmain :<

I think you got the wrong game. Hitman absolution doesn't have dx12.

Okay so we are 3 pages in and not a single comment about performance. Guess I'm going to have to do it myself. OS is Windows 10 1803 17134.48 and specs are in my profile.
Here's my API overhead test results:

    Vulkan beta drivers 397.40
    DX11 single: 2 553 726
    DX11 multi: 2 990 911
    DX12: 20 308 470
    Vulkan: 18 825 113

    397.64
    DX11 single: 2 562 625
    DX11 multi: 2 963 813
    DX12: 19 967 918

Very much the same as on R390 or any previous R396 driver. I'm not seeing any difference between my old 1709 and my new 1803 installs either.
