If I'm right, you can't do it yourself, it's done driver side. Not sure if older AMD drivers (for your GPU) even have it enabled.

Last year Vulkan driver was basically in alpha so it's not surprising that performance increased with further driver development. Now Vulkan driver is almost maxed out already which means that whatever performance issues there still are are most likely due to bad renderer optimizations.

Khronos didn't make Doom's Vulkan renderer.

Both APIs can be easily skewed towards one specific GPU architecture with lack of optimizations for other archs.

Unless a game allows it in settings, you can't either disable or enable async. Also async is always enabled on API level, even if a game doesn't use it.

    I have a gtx 1060

Why I'm asking is because I have this new async option for CSGO after updating to the latest driver, and csgo behaves differently, I don't know which was the one that was set before

It passes fine in windowed mode.

You're into something here, yesterday I noticed my GPU was idling at near 60ºC when it usually sits in the 40s~.
So this morning I decided to check.

Hmmm, I also have it here. /1050 Ti/
I guess we need benchmarks or something.

@VAlbomb This is the reason behind that my HWMonitor stuck with 1595 | 4007 MHz & without dropping?

Quoting this again. I've tried to mess with this using NV Inspector. Tested ASYNC10 options on Grand Theft Auto V. Also tested on GTA San Andreas some option called ASYNC9.
I wouldn't suggest anyone to disable these options or to enable any options that supposedly disable what are called "Dual Core Optimizations".

It made GTAV stutter a lot with these optimizations off and GTA San Andreas got a 80 FPS hit. (Game reaches about 200FPS so...)

    ASYNC10_PRESENT_MODE testing...

Results benchmark GTAV show better performance with Async. https://i.imgur.com/aWmvsHa.png
Async seems to be the default option. https://i.imgur.com/ajS4nHg.png

    @-Tj-

Try disabling fullscreen optimizations in the EXE properties...

This OpenGL driver for Redstone 3 is not less bad or even far worse. Very buggy. And Desktop OpenGl rendered apps having just 1-2 fps UI.

I highly doubt that there are any changes in OpenGL driver in RS3.

Hello, this is my first post in the forum, but have been reading it for some years. Just want to ask if someone is using Win 10 Creators Fall with pCars 2 and has resolution issues.

Ps. English is not my native language.

What kind of resolution issues? Be more specific ;)
Are those issues related to this driver? If not, ask in the PC2 thread or create a new thread.

Welcome, your English is fine :p

Hi, Anybody else get a stutterfest in Time Spy Graphics Test 2 with these drivers?

    Windows 10 64bit, 16Gb Ram, 1080Ti, 7700K.

Just wondering if it will affect any games IRL.

    Cheers,

    Jon.

grrrr, it's only in test 2... just double checking... how annoying, clean install of drivers etc. here.. don't want to have to reinstall the OS as stupid M$ and Oculus don't cache game folders so many Gb's of downloads required!

    Thanks though...

    Jon.

I've had this problem before with my 1080ti sc2. Mounting a case fan inside the case pointed at the card from the front of the case and adjusting the card's fan curve to reach near 100% at around 70c seems to have fixed the problem for me. The stock evga fans are wimpy and even at 100% I can't hear them. The 1080ti's get real fricken hot at full load though.
