    Your twisting words, lol.

You can have a buggy os and stable game. Doesnt matter how stable the game is if the OS isnt playing nice.

Bugs/development errors are the cause of instabilities, whether it be on a large scale or simply causing small issue within software.

    What types of 'user errors'?

It might help to refine the meaning of 'stable' and 'buggy'. I get what you're driving at. The OS can be stable meaning it doesn't crash and you can generally use all the usual features and play games etc etc...but have issues where ancillary functions don't work as they should. I've had one Windows 10 crash and that was actually a game/Nvidia driver issue that was resolved by verifying the game Steam cache and reinstalling the driver. Strictly speaking it wasn't the driver either. I'm on the fast ring and the updates reinstall the Nvidia driver and it causes some strange glitches.

Just finished downloading and testing FEAR steam version.

It has to be the game or drivers. When entering that little area in your video, while i dont have the flickering shadows, i am however missing the fire in the barrel by the door. If i walk up to said barrel and get too close, i catch fire (this i new to me:D). I do not have this issue or any other with the retail version.

What you could do as i suggested above, is download a retail .exe (pm me if you need a reliable link) and see if that makes a difference.

In fact, ill try it myself now by using my retail exe instead of the exe downloaded though steam. Ill post back how it goes.

Edit: It launches, but same issue still occurs. My retail version is still on 1.0, steam version is 1.8. Unfortunately you cant downgrade patches either.

I have my retail key still if you want it. I dont play online and so i dont need it + I own it on steam. You will however need to source the game from "elsewhere".

From what I see in your profile, you have SLi while the others that tested it do not.
Check if teh shadow problem is still there when SLI is disabled. If the shadows are fine using only one GPU, it's an SLi issue.
You could also try to import a SLi profile for the game from older drivers with which the shadows worked in SLi using Nvidia Inspector and see if that helps.

Could just be SLI issues. Either way as an SLI user the .82 driver was a no-go for the games I'm playing right now.

Coming from the guy with the big mouth who doesn't think before he speaks...

To back up my statement, I decided to dig through my older games and installed both FEAR and Doom 3 and to my lack of astonishment, they both worked just fine on windows 10 pro + 355.82.

But I wasn't going to stop there since you decided to take my comment personally and made a petty attempt at an insult without proving me wrong. I'm not sure how long you've been a PC user, but I've learned over the years that older software tends to run just fine if you install it from a retail disc. So in the interest of science I downloaded both FEAR and Doom 3 from TPB and after uninstalling the legit software, both pieces of cracked software were then installed. ..

You know what happened? Neither worked! Imagine that! Many older pieces of cracked software wont work on modern operating systems because the crack itself quite frequently works only on operating systems supported by the game at the time due to specific exploits made for outdated registry structure.

It's sad that people have the nerve to come on a forum and complain about their old pirated software not working with a new operating system. There are actually very few games made made even as far back as the earliest windows games that wont run on today's operating systems. Some of the only ones that haven't worked for me were old DOS games that required "expanded memory", but luckily GOG has re-released them with a sandbox wrapper and even those work. Sure there are exceptions, but I have a good feeling that I explained exactly why those games didnt work for you because legit games are clearly working on windows 10

I have F.E.A.R. and Doom3 and all standalones and expansions to both games. I do not have SLI thank goodness.

ALL of the above work perfectly. No problems with shadows, frame rate etc. Windows 10 latest official driver.

I don't have a single piece of software on my PC that is pirated.

    Pirated?

Im not using pirated FEAR, neither is SSJBillClilton (its not until you write that username out that you realise how funny it is:D) i was simply referring to the fact that sometimes a cracked exe can remove issues that an official exe may cause. I dont why, but its something in my time of pc gaming that ive come to realize.

Alot of my bought games pre...say 2010, i install them and usually they dont need the disk or a third party exe will remove the requirement, from there, i place the installed game backed up onto an external and that way the next time i need to reinstall an OS, i just drag an drop my games over. No installation process.

Alot of those game that ive done that process with, they were first installed since i was on vista and they still work fine on 7, 8.1, 10. Now, Tbh, im not sure what you and i are debating about. But you say your official doom didnt work on 10? That was my point, its not your fault, its not user error, its the system/game.

That other fellow was posting nothing but "User error!, my games fine, yous a pleb lol" was offering no solutions other than user error. Thats not really helpful and brings us no closer to a solution.

"I dont think before i speak", that was meant to be my user name, but i couldnt think of a way to abbreviate it, so i'll give you that.

No, SSJBillCliton isnt the only one using sli. Check my specs, they old asf, but they still go.

As for pirated software, I totally agree, but that doesn't mean that those having issues don't use legal versions of their games, plus sometimes people use a crack because it is pita to use cd's / dvd's everytime you want to start a game, but even then games do actually work most of the time if the right files for the latest patch are downloaded and the right compatibility mode is selected.
I even use a no CD crack for one of my retail racing games myself, that to add my monitors native resolution, which can't be done with the retail executable, but it works on Windows 10 too.
Doom 3 can probably run with a crack too, I can't see why not, but can't be arsed to wait for 3 disks to install.
Btw. using complete games from TPB is not even something that has been discussed.
Also take note of the SLI part in it all.

Yeah I pretty much tried everything including disabling SLI, but it's the same for my girlfriend who is on a single card setup unfortunately.

    EDIT: http://steamcommunity.com/app/21090/discussions/0/521643320370296162/

Found people talking about it here, and my video cropped up haha.

Last I checked the FEAR forums nobody was mentioning it, it's all over the place now haha. I guess I can stop posting about it repeatedly here now! :p

    THis, thank you.

Ot, monitor not always turning on after a cold boot. I either have to force restart or take my hdmi cable out of the gpu and then plug it back in after a few seconds.

I may go back to 350.12 at this point. All drivers after those have caused, not major issues, but enough small ones that its getting to the point that im having to fight them off everytime i sit down at my pc.

    Not fun.

Well put bruh, I have uninstalled this new driver and settled with 355.80 hf for now myself. I even mailed NV with a few queries and trust me they don't have much to say themselves.

Just a quick question guys, when using multiple monitors if I am gaming on one screen and no matter what I have open on the other screen when ALT+TABBING are both screen meant to go black for a split second? Or when loading a game and GSYNC is enabled is the framerate of the second monitor also meant to suffer.

ie - when loading a game the fps can go as low as 1fps, 2fps, 5fps, etc this fps also effects the second monitor and when watching a video on the second monitor whilst gaming with GSYNC the video will stutter MASSIVELY.

    Are these things normal?

Yeah that's normal if you're running it in Fullscreen. Won't happen if you use Borderless Windowed but I have no idea about G-Sync or if that works with Bord-Wind.

Ok not sure but any r355 driver is giving me L4D2 issues with
    Fault Module Name: shaderapidx9.dll

Started around the same time when steam got updated, coincidence idk..

Judging by this thread its a long time occasional issue, never had that in win8.1 and in win10 until latest steam update & newer drivers..
    http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1100021

Only renaming that fastprox.dll seems to help, but it can still crash later.

TeamFrotress2 runs fine and it uses same engine/shaderapidx9.dll & fastporx.dll.

Its right before it tries to lunch the game, so far it appears to be win10 mostly or only issue and possibly nvidia driver too.
