I've been hesitant of using SMAA in online PB games. Not looking to get banned or anything.

Same reason why I don't use the FPS limiter in MSI AB/Nvi Inspector either.

NVidia Inspector uses the frame limiting capability built into the drivers. No reason not to use it.

Drivers working beautifully on my new i5 build with Skyrim...buttery smooth. Not much else to say to be honest. Can't do comparisons due to a different build.

PB bans only occur when you modify the games files/config settings that give an unfair advantage, not your driver settings

This driver is bad on my system, m'kay. I got artifacts on my desktop for the second time, windows basic theme activated and then aero got reapplied. Really weird, I installed this driver for the TDR fixes they must've implemented but all it did was wreck my setup. Reverted to 290.53.

No issues with these so far, working great in SC2 and BF3. :rpg:

Clearly you didn't read what I said. Let me repost the significant portion for you:

If AMD or NVIDIA put a profile in their drivers to try to make the game scale, it can actually get performance below the level of a single GPU because of of the game's rendering logic. Is that really what you want? Should they just put in a profile to appease you at the expense of performance?

AMD and NVIDIA don't get to decide whether a developer will spend 10s of thousands of dollars to patch their game for 1% of the userbase. The developers do.

Um... NVIDIA Update only updates profiles for Ambient Occlusion, SLI, and AA.

It will also notify you when a new driver comes out, but it by no means downloads or installs it for you. Might want to, ya know, try it out before talking about it.

It's not a bug, it's working as intended.

Didn't run into any issues with this set so far.
Performance on pair with previous releases.

LOL why would you inject FXAA? The "Post-process Anti-aliasing" option in the game is using FXAA already.

The only difference is when you inject it you get FXAA applied to the text of the HUD/UI too, making it blurry and harder to read.

Nah, he broke his quoting. It just looks that way. It's fixed.

I read what you said but AFAIK there was never a profile made for the game.

Well, if you've never used it I'm curious why you're trying to talk about it? Better get your facts together.

PS: Multiple posts in a row really suck.

I read on the NVIDIA forums that the experimental OpenGL/DX FXAA flags have been removed from this driver which completely sucks as it was working very nicely with a few games, including Dead Space and GTA IV, with the previous 290.53 betas. Why would they remove a feature that only be used by people who knew it was there and used NVIDIA Inspector to unlock it? As always with these 'experimental' settings you use them at your own risk anyway, just as you use betas at your own risk! :3eyes:

I'm guessing SMAA will NOT work with MSI Afterburner running? I tried it in BF3 and saw zero difference. Disabled Origin overlay, but haven't disabled Afterburner yet. I need afterburner for fan control :/
