I tried fps limiter capped at 59fps without vsync and without triple buffering, it doesn't eliminate tearing in Mass Effect 1, nor in Heroes VI

has fps limiter any other use than to simply limit my fps, or should i stick with vsync+tb?

Hmm, i remember people screwed up their system during early StarCraft 2 because in the menus the Framerate went skyrocket.

So all i can think about then is reduced horsepower ur PC uses for everything above let's say 60 FPS. Which could mean Less Heat and Power Usage.

But correct me if i'm wrong.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

But if you're always playing with v-sync your already capped at the refreshrate of your monitor so.

Personaly an FPS Limiter isn't anything usefull for me either because i always play with v-sync. Because Screen Tearing is simply the worst of the worst things.

yes, i just thought maybe if the fps won't go higher than my monitor's refresh rate, then i could avoid tearing without the need of vsync... i was wrong. :(

Mirrors Edge has low performance with this driver. About 10 fps and 10% GPU-Usage with my GTX 460.
Physx is not the problem I think. I disabled it ingame.

    /edit
Gone after a reboot. Don't know why.... 60 fps now and runs fine.

Because they are leaked and not officially released yet.

  7. oh gosh guys... what mess you have here... like first day using PC...

I have a X58, using Latest 11.5.0.1109_Alpha RST. And my ICH is also supported in there also as in every intel inf older bridge drivers are present... it is been like that for ages... don't be so damn hypocritical... :biggun:

And I have zero issues with my older 280SLI setup with these drivers... Skyrim runs indeed smoother...

Noticing flickering textures more often with this set than with previous ones, in multiple games too....hmmm....guess Ill try uninstalling the drivers and doing a clean install instead of just letting Nvidia do the dirty work....never seems to go well.

The flickering in Mafia 2 is really bad, anyone else? Especially on the street lights, car lights, and trees. (re-downloading to see if that changes anything, then ill try a roll back)

Other than the flickering not much to really talk about bad wise, though I havn't been watching my temps so perhaps its running hotter.

Oh, BTW, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of yas :nerd:

The reason people limit it to 59 fps is to actually use it with vsync+tb. People say that doing that eliminates all input lag while removing tearing. That's what the big fuss over limiting to 59 fps is about.
If you just want to limit it to reduce heat or something, stick to 60 fps.
And if you don't care about input lag, do what you have been doing all along.

So what's the verdict on these drivers?
    More specifically, BF3/Saint's row 3?

    Same here with SLI:

When I enable SLI, I get no picture on my Apple Led Cinema (mini displayport) hooked on an Atlona AT-DP200 converter. Former drivers alway's worked (with the exception of 290.36)
It dispays right on my old CRT though.

I have two MSI GTX 580's 3 GB extrme editions and an X58 mobo, and a Intel X25-M SSD and Win 7 64 installed.

Seems these drivers dont want to go into 2d or low 3d mode, thus running at full clocks and voltage at all times.. fairly fail on that one.

One of the lucky ones here I guess, best driver for me to date. Especially considering I didn't expect much originally from my 460se sli configuration, only $205 total spent on these 2 cards. 3DMark 11 went from 5075 to 5197 and seeing similar results in games. Rage, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, and Crysis 2 all run highest settings at 1080p with absolutely no issues. Fraps rarely shows drops below 40fps in any of them (I do never use more than 4xAA though). BF3 has some very rare slowdowns at Ultra settings with msaa disabled. Perfectly playable though. My 560ti in my other system recently bit the dust, and is being replaced under warranty, will report how these latest drivers work for it once I have it back in my other system.

these drivers seemed to completly change the brightness settings on my pc. Even after messing about with the control panel and monitor itself i switched back to the previous drivers which sorted the issue

perfect drivers for me... no problems at all.

@s88urd: it happens to me when I play crysis 2. but you can change it to default by choosing nvidia's presets and then choosing default ones. it works... ;)
