GeForce 285.27 BETA Drivers released

280.26 drivers broke Mafia 2 for me (5fps in meny then I ctrlaltdeleted the shizzle out of it.

285.27 sorted it out again.

Previously I ran 270.61 worked great but 285.27 improved crysis2, BC2. just alittle bit but noticeable.

Im on day 3 so far no issues but to be fair I only watched some movies and played wind waker and metroid prime this weekend.

Dolphin kicks my gamecubes bee hind! full HD antialiasing and rock solid fps.

Question BetA, do i have to install LAVFilters-0.35 and LAVCUVID-0.13 for
MPC-HC?

I like to use LAVFilters-0.35 or and LAVCUVID-0.13 with madVR in MPC-HC
and not have to use ffdshow anymore.

i have installed both..its just a mather on how u set it up in mpc hc..i dont even have ffdshow installed anymore..
GO to ur mpc hc and set madvr as output, and go to internal filters and mostly deaktivate them all..

go external filters and add Lavcuvid , lav splitter and lav video / audio..

now u put lavcuvid on top and set it to prefeer..this way u can handle wich codec it will use..

i use lav cuvid for H264, blueray discs, vc1, rm, flv and mp4.

for the rest i use Lav video../filter pack and lav splitter..
For sound i use lav audio, on all medias.,.

I shall do that and Bitstream my audio like i don with ffdshow.

And i have DTS-HD MA 7.1 and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 with LAV Filters

Hi all i'm new here even if i always followed the forum...

These drivers are absolutely amazing...
800 points more in 3d mark 11

 

I haven't noticed any performance increases in games personally but I see an approx. 700 point in increase in 3DMark11's Performance test from P6000 to P6700 (@ 1280x720 on default settings) and a 200 point increase from X1900 to X2100 in the Xtreme test (@ 1920x1080 on default settings).

It's a shame that those improvements are not apparent in the games themselves. If I was a cynical person I'd wonder if NVIDIA have implemented some kind of cheat in the drivers to boost benchmark scores...

 

i bet if you roll back your overclocks a bit the crash to desktop would stop. before you flame me just give it a go.

 

Stable drivers so far, no big gains in S2U, no problems during install.
I will check these for BFBC2 and COD:BO later on...

 

I been watching series of shows downloaded from online, and been using Vlc and notice after switching to these drivers the video seems worse, colors seems washed out with black and white showing up.and I had at lest once pixels problem. I tried MPC and it is better with it. but nvidia seemed to do something that caused this problem...I also understand it could be the encoding the person for the video as the videos are divx encoded

 

dsbig, guess I'm not the only one having issues with VLC and this driver lol

Thanks for the input, I'm of the same camp that this driver is somehow conflicting with VLC (either directly or indirectly)... hoping they fix it in the next driver release.

 

my score improvements were at shareware default resolution in 3d mark 11.

Finally a good news: Flight Simulator X runs smooth and well, for the first time seems using well like other recent games my sli system.... finally really a pleasure

 

285.27 performance review

 

drivers fail to install i have tried every which way to install

 

some of you guys must have really jacked up installs... time to bust out the Windows 7 disk and reload it.

These are probably the best set since I've had my gtx 480

 

Try to extract the driver package, then open up your device manager and force it to install the driver for your graphic card from the extracted driver.
you can extract it in two ways, 1. use 7zip 2. let it run the normal install and cancel it when it gives you the installation options.
After you successfully got the new driver installed reboot your system and then run the setup like you would normally do.
Remember to select the clean install option.

This is a very bad Review site, they only use one Geforce GTX 570 and not 2x
Geforce GTX 570 in SLI, when you get the big boost with SLI as is stated by
Nvidia :bang:

 

well the site is good and ok..they didnt say they gonna review sli at this time..or did they somewhere say anything else?

they tested single perf only for now..
