Geforce 270.61whql driver!

wonder why nvidia hasnt put these up on their site yet

 

They're up on the GeForce.com > Driver section as I just checked about 10-15 minutes ago.

 

hmm. never heard of that site before lol. ive always waited until they were on nvidia.com

On the NVidia.com site under Communities you'll see where NVidia links to GeForce.com.

At the bottom of page on the GeForce.com site it says

Copyright 2011 NVidia Corporation

 

Would love to get these installed but worried as the 270.51 beta borked folding@home for me.
I get these are official not beta, but still PITA if still borked and have to uninstall and put back the 267.85s.

Excellent, these also solved my World In Conflict Complete edition problem with the previous 270.xx versions

Just wish Nvidia would add DTS-MA and DD-TrueHD to the HD Audio driver for the GTX580 now

 

I'm just glad I don't wait till all the less-tech-savvy people get wise before I ever try anything out lol.

 

270.61 has minor fixes above 270.51. You'll have to look at the changelog or do some research to see if any of those minor fixes changed anything in the latest drivers.

 

On the menu of nvidia setting, we can choose threaded optimization off or on.
Should i use it with an AMD dual core?

 

the safest setting would be auto imo. which pretty much means it will use the threading optimizations for games that are already multithreaded, while turning it off for single threaded games or so I believe.

never really had any problems with it on auto, but a while back i did get performance degradation in a few single threaded titles when i forced it to on.

also since you have an AMD dual core processor, i thinku should dl their dual core optimizer if you havent already, as it can help to prevent problems with certain games.

Yeah finally a whql, i don't care, beta, whql it's a new driver, i will reinstall the OS right now, and what a coincidence, today i bought bad company 2 and here is a new driver !! I got this luck 2 times. ))

 

Great driver so far! Stable and great IQ!

 

This set fixed sli performance problems with Bioshock 2

 

hopefully these fixed out of focus blurring by RE5 and black polygons flicker by LP2 with older gpus 9800gtx+, 250gts and 260gtx.

By the way, if your running 270.51's you can use the nvidia tray icon to find updates. 270.61 is listed as an update there.

 

Anyone tried BC2? I got flickering @ Heavy Metal with latest 270.61 Beta.
