COD4 better than 180.42, but another problem.

178 up to 180.42 worked well with the TV, but .43 doesn't.

It sees it, you can enable it, you get your desktop on your tv and then
    poof th etv turns black.

Also the older versions, saved your settings such as resolution/country signal
    etc. and this one doesn't.

    Am on Vista 64-bit btw

Works fine for me, as did .42. Also using Vista 64-bit.

This is the first driver for me since 169.25 that doesn't cause lock ups in windows Vista x64. Seems to be very smooth, haven't done any exact benchmark test as far as FPS goes, but I will be keeping this driver for now.

Um... i dont know, but i think that falls within the margin error.... like it shows on the Avg, not even 1 less FPS... maybe on the minimum... but.... still....

This driver fixed my "Driver has stopped respond error" but sometimes the game just crashes to desktop. DV works fine here.

    crashed farcry2

These drivers crashed my farcry 2 game, like multicolours all over screen.I was happy using the 177 drivers till my son told me new drivers for farcry2,anyway loaded the 178 official drivers now and think i'll wait till they get sorted.by the way noticed nvidia have removed the 180.42's off there site so may be a problem of sum sort.

Just tested Far Cry 2 with these drivers and it runs brilliantly.

    A benchmark result:

    Settings: Demo(Ranch Long), 1360x768 (60Hz), D3D10, Fixed Time Step(No), Disable Artificial Intelligence(No), Full Screen, Anti-Aliasing(8x), VSync(No), Overall Quality(Custom), Vegetation(Very High), Shading(Ultra High), Terrain(Ultra High), Geometry(Ultra High), Post FX(High), Texture(Ultra High), Shadow(Ultra High), Ambient(High), Hdr(Yes), Bloom(Yes), Fire(Very High), Physics(Very High), RealTrees(Very High)

Total Frames: 12078, Total Time: 284.00s
    Average Framerate: 42.53
    Max. Framerate: 84.96 (Frame:965, 17.30s)
    Min. Framerate: 6.81 (Frame:3439, 82.76s)

I'm not sure why guru3d said the 9800GX2 didn't run it well, I play the game with all maxed out settings (are the settings I have actually the highest they can go?) and on average can get well over 60FPS.
Although there are a couple of minor problems.
Texture sometimes get discoloured and shadows don't render properly until about a foot in front.
Other than that, very good driver set.

Fan control works fine for me using NVIDIA system tools 6.03. Note that you need version 6.03 (The latest release), as the fan control doesn't work if you have anything older installed.

Upgrade from 182.42 to the .43's and i gotta say my Farcry perfomance went up a notch; I was having some stuttering problems in some parts of the game but now they are all gone.
    Great set for me ((=

Do I need to uninstall previous version of the nvidia control panel before installing the system tools?

    Edit: nvm, figured it out.

Sometimes uninstalling a driver and reinstalling it a second time will fix issues. Worth a try if a lot of people experience improved performance but for some reason your system runs poorly.

Geez I hate sites that require cookies or login to download a driver! Mediafire and esnips or whatever. Sorry I don't have any links for drivers with PhysX removed that don't require cookies or login.

Your minimum FPS is 6.8 :eek3:

I hope nVidia fixes this issue soon. :( - Performance is still iffy for me with any sort of AA.

Also a strange thing for me happens when I switch from DX10 to DX9, in the benchmark I go from an average of 51fps to an average of 71fps. This is very odd as everyone I've talked to told me DX10 gave them better performance, not worse.

Better performance in FarCry 2 in DX10? Every single game I ever tried had much worse performance in DX10 than its DX9 counterpart... :bang:
