Single is 21% up and Multi 27% up from the 5800X, impressive for a new gen. Intel will come over those numbers, probably. Price not impressive though.
While performance is always king, it will be interesting to see what the thermals will be like for these processors. Intel seems to be pushing the thermals quite high in their quest for having the most performance, which is problematic if you don't want to stack your system full of 360 mm radiators for water cooling. If AMD has managed to keep the thermals in check and thus allow for a more cost effective use of air coolers, while achieving this level of performance it will be a very interesting development. Though personally I'll not upgrade until Zen 5/Intel's 14K offering at the earliest.
Sombody with the nickname orangezone uploaded a CPU-Z validation for a retail AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor, disclosing crucial characteristics such as 5.425 GHz speeds @ 1.152 V core-voltage. Let's add that the temperature was 72c.
If this is legit then I'm hoping a 7900x will see a significant leap in performance from my 3800x. I'm CPU limited even at 4k in an AI heavy session in DCS.
