I have a question, whats the difference between Gaming VGA and Professional VGA? how come Professional VGA is so expensive compared to Gaming VGA? and how come there are some Gaming VGA that can be softmoded to Professional vga? are there disadvantages in softmoding a Gaming VGA to Professinal VGA? Im actually planning to buy a Nvidia Quadro fx2000, ill be using this for 3d modeling and rendering purposes using sketchup, autocad, 3dmax, photoshop and etc. My question is, will it be worth it buying a nvidia quadro fx2000 where in i can buy gaming vga then softmodding it to quadro? coz nvidia quadro as far as i know is so expensive compared to gaming vga. Can someone give me idea on how to softmod my HD4650 to firegl v5700? I hope to hear from the GURUS!!! LOL
I have built many of systems, and have done plenty for CAD designers in my area (HVAC guys, that use alot of 3D Autocad).. Honestly the whole quadro vs geforce thing is part true part false. Depening on what your doing is a quadro gonna have a BIG difference then a GF card? Most likley not, but qthe quadros do have certain advantages... antiailaising lines and optimizations for most cad software that is disabled on Mainstream GF Cards.. Honestly tho, I would rather spend $500+ on a Top of the Line GeForce 6 series say, then $2000 on a QUadro that is a generation old already and not gonna give me any benefit to my eye...
differences between quadro and geforce here... http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro_geforce.html quadro has support for things like Overlay, Hardware-Accelerated Clip Planes, Antialiased Points and Lines, Two-Sided Lighting, and better memory management (& ECC memory) with quadro you will only see these few extra options in 3dsmax and autocad, sketchup and photoshop wont benifit
