Yep, that plus the better screen is worth the small bump.

Also what I meant by soldered on is that you couldn't change it in future, so it's a risky purchase.

    edit, sorry, thought about weight

another option is the 15.6" model

though it's the 675m, but it's still an mxm laptop, it's just more if you would prefer a lighter laptop, it's 8.6 pounds vs 7.7 pounds (3.5kg 3.9kg)

Yeah dude, thats the one I was comparing earlier on in this thread that one versus the GTX 670MX one, everyone in that thread was saying go with a newer MX Kepler model GTX 670MX or 675MX.

That was the 17.3" model you linked earlier (a gt70), this is a GT60.

Oh ok, well it's still the 675M, if it was the 675MX for like $1600 I would have already bough the laptop lol, I really like this laptop, I could throw games and the windows os for booting on the SSD, even though I didn't really need the SSD in the first place lol, but it has a substantially better GTX 675MX which is like 15-20% better then the 670MX and 675M. And would mean not even having to upgrade to a 7970M or 680M and wait for the next batch of cards and only spending $300 extra on that and the SSD, rather then spending more later...

Yeah if you're fine with the weight it sounds good.

Unsure about the next gen of cards though, always a bit tricky there, might be over 100w (mxm b, which I have, and that has, is 100w max I think), or they might just ditch the mxm b and make a new one. Might just be as simple as modifying the heatsink, who knows. At the very least, if you ever have the money in some months time, the 680m or 7970m is still a worthy upgrade.

Still a worthy upgrade over the kepler GTX 675MX? If that's the case probably not worth spending the extra $300 then now. Get a GTX 670MX and then save for the GTX 680M or 7970M.

Yes I would say get the 670mx and get the 680m or 7970m later.

Ok so here's my last question found a laptop or two on Tigerdirect that has a GTX 680M for 1899 and a 7970M for 1999, on the $2000 laptop they will let me do 36 month financing if needed without interest, it would only be like $55 a month every month just longer. So maybe instead of waiting to spend another $500 on a 680M or 7970M I could get one now and start paying it off.

What do you think of one of these:

Well, the msi is better, it's smaller, lighter, cheaper, has a faster processor, and a better graphics card, so that one, out of the two you posted there.

It's only available for preorder so I'll wait a bit but I will probably get that one.

I personally like the Asus that you linked for 1300$ sure it only has the 2gb 670mx but it has the best form factor(i doubt it matters to you only aesthetics) and what you have to ask your self is 1300$ sensible to run BF3/MOH/FC3 dx11 intensives etc @ not max with any of the 3 graphics cards when set to high(not ultra/maxed) the 670mx 675m and 675mx all perform in the 60 fps range together so you really have to ask yourself, is 200$-600$ more worth the extra 10(675mx)-20(680m/x) is that fps boost worth it. Keep in mind the 670-80 series cards all perform >60 fps maxed on those games. So there is essentially a plateau/falling off point to performance at the major cost of $$$ and more over this is the IDEAL PATH get the asus @ 1300$ sell it for 1000$ a year later on craigslist/ebay put that 1000$ towards a 1500$ computer then whos performance will mimic a 2000$ laptop today.....this is what i would strongly recommend or suggest sure you will still be paying it off but realistically this is the best way to Game on a laptop

Well dude, that sounds great, but right now I can get a $2000 Gaming PC or Gaming Laptop, and I can get a heck of a lot more out of a gaming desktop in performance then a laptop, but a laptop has it's perks too definitely. I am just torn right now between gaming laptop or desktop. I have a good gaming pc all ready to be bought i7 3820, 16gb ddr3, 2x gtx 660 sli setup, 800 watt psu, 24'' LED 1920x1080 monitor, etc or I could get the gaming laptop that costs more and has i7 3630qm cpu, 16gb ddr3, gtx 680M, 128gb ssd.

I think I want to get the gaming laptop, it'd be different for me in a good way and I won't have to upgrade **** like I feel I have to on a desktop. Is the MSI GT60 has an MXM slot? It comes with a GTX 680m gpu now anyway so probably won't need to upgrade it for awhile. Is this a good gaming laptop to get now last me for some time?
