    Highlights:
in crysis3 6700k is more than twice faster than 2500k
Skylake have 30-45% better IPC vs sandy bridge.
In games where HT scalling and are not GPU bottleneck skylake is even faster than 45% like watchdogs.
GPU is hard bottleneck here. With better GPU results will be even better for skylake

This last set of benchmarks is the most awesome to me. It gives users a real world example upon which to base CPU/mobo upgrades. The best thing about it is that it shows differences in both going from one of the most popular gaming CPUs at this time (2500k) with an average overclock versus the most current i7 with an identical clock. Perfect IMO.

    I would more like to see how i5 2500k 4.5Ghz do vs i5 6600k stock 3.9Ghz and oc'd 4.5Ghz.

i7 6700k does seem like a nice upgrade over Sandy chip.

Today I came across this thread and found it interesting. So i decided to run a few tests to see what I got.

I run a benchmark on Sniper Elite III, a game that wasn't tested yet on this thread.

    This is my system:
    Windows 10
    i7 3770k @ 4ghz
    R9 390 @ 1040/6000
    16 GB ddr3 1866

    These were the results:

    HT on:
    DX11: avg-148.4 / max-205.6
    Mantle: avg- 159.9 / max-232.9

    HT off
    DX11: avg-148.2 / max 201.9
    Mantle: 159.8 / 234.5

The results are almost identical, both on DX11 or Mantle.

PS: This game's internal benchmark doesn't show minimum fps.

No no no, i get 61 FPS with GTX760 on MAX settings with no AA, not 100 FPS like you thought...

These are CPU benchmarks, not VGA, the settings are not maximum in every game, i wrote that in the first post. I will post a different thread about midrange video card performance, no way you should judge GTX760 performance based on this benchmark. This is only for CPU...

    @Headd

Thank you for your benchmarks. It's seems your results vary from mine since you used Core i7 6700K and i used Core i7 3770. Looks like hyper-threading works much better on Skylake than on Ivy Bridge...

Also, your Core i5 2500K vs Core i7 6700K results are super welcomed. Looks like i5 2500K was not far behind the i7 6700K in the maximum FPS, but was crushed when it came to minimum FPS - amazing...

And we all know that Core i5 2500K is an excellent CPU, which has the same power of Core i5 4670K in games when using maximum settings:

This just makes Core i7 6700K look like a juggernaut...

    Headd,

World of tanks has a maximum FPS of 127, I kept running into it with my i5-3570K @ 4.0GHz and AMD R9 290 [however, I cannot remember if that was with the R9 290 overclocked, sorry]. It has something to do with game code.

World of Warships has an even lower max FPS, 77 if memory serves me, and I am at that constantly with my i5-3570K @ 4.0GHz and non-overclocked MSI GTX 980 Ti Lightning LE, and I now ignore the FPS because it is always the same.

Both WoT and WoWs are heavily CPU dependent.

I do not have any games that are a problem for my lowly Intel i5-3570K @ 4.0GHz and Lightning combination - except Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it likes my CPU to run at 4.4GHz and loves 4.6GHz, and I doubt I will be able to find an i7-6700K that will run at 4.6GHz on air - which I am using.

For YouTube, DigitalFoundry does a good job comparing benchmarks, here is one:
